Tap at iBrew. Called Sicilian Rouge here. Lots of red tomato colour. Small white head. Aroma is herbs (basil really) and tomato. Pizza beer! Bit wheaty too. Taste is hint of tomato, some bitterness, herbs again, slightly citrus, coriander. Quite crisp. Nice, weird, half is enough, but glad I tried it. Has just enough beer characteristics to make it nice.

Tap at the Watering Hole. This version was dry hopped with Citra and Sorachi Ace. Golden colour, slightly opaque. Not much head at all. Aroma is citrus and some sorachi weirdness. Slightly spicy too, but a strong hoppy spiciness rather than malty one. Taste is more citrus than sorachi but there is a hint of strangeness in there. Slightly musty, some herbal elements. Nice. Slight liveliness in the mouth, not spritzy, but slightly lively. Bit of cream coming through further down. Still nice funkiness though. Pretty nice pale ale.

I was hoping for slight saison, but definitely a fruit beer. Kinda like the best gourmet candy. Wouldn't want a pint, but a half is lovely.

I went to Yamaoka today and got one for the road: Noboribetsu (Oni Debsetsu) Pilsner Light gold with a bready and lightly peppery aroma. Soft bodied with a crisp finish for some reason I kept thinking Czech Pilsner drinking it. After a few hours out in the heat this went down a treat and I was impressed by its soft approachable breadiness.

Tap @ Watering Hole. Creamy yellow orange pour, some white bubbles on the top. Nose is soft, oats and light lupulin dust. Taste has more citrus, grassy hops, grainy edge coming out closer to the finish. Good stuff, signature quality from Onidensetsu.

Tap at Takumiya, Kyoto. Poured a slightly hazy light amber colour with a thin white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus, light floral hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a light, crisp, fresh, slightly yeasty, light citrus, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
