Tap at Watering Hole. A couple weeks later and by far the best double / Imperial IPA in Japan. Tons of pineapple and tropical juice notes with tangerine coming though. Drinks like water and again with almost no perceived alcohol or bitterness. A world class beer. Tap at Gremlin. Clear gold with no head. Huge haribo gummy bear nose that doesn’t stop. Backed up with nice dank notes with durian, papaya and pineapple; super tropical. Average carbonation with a nice clean mouthfeel. The tropical fruit and gummy bear flavors continue through til the finish. Hardly any perceived bitterness and basically feels like 4.5 percent session beer. Tap at Gremlin. Big tropical, dank notes with a seemingly endless amount of weed. Just a fantastic nose. More tropical notes, durian and papaya dominate the palate, slightly catty. Tap at Gremlin. Lots of stone fruit and cantaloupe on the nose with pineapple and tropical fruit bouquet as it warms. Some dank weed on the palate with nice all-around balance. Tap at Gremlin for Neil’s birthday extravaganza. This is silliness in the glass. Big juicy, punchy orange and mango notes that are seemingly endless. Some heady notes as well. The nose is one of hte best in Japan. Bitterness on the finish was definitely toned down in this keg / or perhaps at Gremlin. Tangerine juice bomb all day. Tap at Watering Hole. Big tropical nose with mango, peach and pineapple with an aggressive dank, juicy weed-forward nose. Tangerine on the palate with more tropical notes and a light bitter, pithy citrusy finish. Tap at Sapporo Craft Beer Forest. This was the 2nd year’s brew. Pissy nose, grapefruit, light crackery malt. Deep orange-golden color. Nice maltiness, good hop flavor. Malty and quite nice.

Handpump at Gremlin. Lovely tropical forward nose with peach and apple notes. Soft carbonation with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. More tropical notes with pineapple and passion fruit coming on strong. Handpump at Watering Hole. Pillowy white head that lingers throughout. Nose is all juicy muscat pulp and lingers throughout. Like a freshly squeezed perfumey white muscat juice. Slightly creamy and soft mouthfeel. Muscat throughout. Hand pump at Watering Hole. Hazy orange with a finger of white head that lingers. Tons of bright orange pulp and juiciness on the nose and palate. Well-done without being sweet all. More juicy, citrusy pulp on the palate with a pithy bitterness that hits mid-palate throughout the finish. A little too pithy but still a fun beer.

Tap at Gremlin. Grapefruit and iyokan zest on the nose with some light grass and lemon notes. Easy drinking and well-balanced. Light bitter finish. Very nice.
