sweet malty nose with good roastiness and coconut character. Surprisingly full body with lots of roasted malt, drier than expected and lingering big coconut finish. Not bad

I guess I like raspberries. This one is a fruited porter, pours dark brown, edging on black with some beige bubbles on top. Aroma is interestingly sourish-fruity, some deep roast and a bit of cocoa also there. Taste is combining fruits (bit sourish raspberries), roast and chocolate. Dry roast bitterness in the finish. Unusual combinations, something that I really like though, this beer is working very nicely for me.

Tap at Devil Craft Gotanda. Pours straw yellow, bit of foam. Deep grainy aroma, bit of dust and some fresh sour notes there. Drinks fast, slight umami sourness in the otherwise quite malt-forward beer. Good example of kettle souring techniques, has ended up very quaffable.

Tap at Devil Craft Gotanda. Nice deep amber, clear and complete with low carbonation - looking according to the style I guess. Aroma has a bit of freshly cut grass, on top of clean malty caramel. Body feels relatively on the weak side, maltiness is in the aroma, imparting some nutty flavours in the taste. Does not wow me but drinks very nicely, something I imagine I could drink in copious volumes if that would be the only beer in the menu.

Pours golden, even kind of yellow. Aroma is fresh and mainly displays some grainy malt character, just a bit of herbal hops also in the background, making everything more palatable. Drinks easy, still dominated by biscuity, grainy malt character but slight fruitiness also coming out. Not really understanding the hybrid nature of this beer, for me it still pretty much tastes like English bitter and not that much as an IPA.

Tap at Devil Craft Hamamatsucho. Pours golden, bit of white head. Aroma has biscuits, bit of grainy dust. Tastes also relatively malty, more British I guess, but I am not sure if that is a good thing to aim for. Some fruity notes behind that biscuity wall, overall drinks easy but I am not completely satisfied. Not bad though.

Nice clear amber. Aroma is fruity, bubblegum, lots of tropics going on here. Nice balance between sweeter malt body and tropical-feeling hops. Drinks extremely easy, feels like hoppy fruit juice, mango, papaya and sweet pears. Dangerous but very pleasantly so, totally sessionable.

malty, subdued, a but of bread and pineapple. Kinda boring. Not sure what they were aiming for

Keyaki fall 2016. Big juicy, orange and grapefruit notes with a hint of mint on the nose. Clean and light body, refreshing and easy drinking. Really nice with lots of juicy fruit notes on the palate as well. Bitterness is well hidden. Very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Devil IPA on 18 Sep 2016 at 12:39 - Score: 8
