Can. Pretty much clear golden amber with a small white head. Aroma of Seville oranges, fresh pine timber, bread. Loads of bittersweet oranges. Lovely. Firmish bread underneath with maybe a little hint of caramel. Some herbal notes and drying resin creep in before the strongly bitter end. Really good.

Bottle. Almost clear rosy amber with a few beige bubbles soon at the rim. Boozy aroma with sultanas, Sherry, dark sugars. Pretty thin with Sherry and spirit notes, dried fruit. Not very sweet with a grapey sourness creeping in at the end along with decent bitterness, drying alcohol and oak.

Can. Deep clear reddish brown with a pale beige head of a cm that hangs in there a little while. Aroma of sticky breadcrust, hints of spices & stewed fruit. Medium bodied. Moderately sweet - but not really properly rich - with some singed flavours. Moderately medicinal spicy bitterness at the end. Not bad.

I struggle with nitros - just not enough bubbles. But I concede that it's a nice drop. Aromas of spices, cloves, raisins and biscuits. A little bit of fruit cake in the mouth, but a bit of a short finish.

Can. Brownish amber with a fast fading pale beige head. Biscuity aroma with peach and spices. A bit of roasted malt upon a swig too. Dryish with a firm bitter finish. Carbonation on the low side of medium. Certainly my sort of bitter.

Crowler. Almost clear amber with a good inch of near white head that hangs around awhile. Aroma of grapefruit, herbal lemon, breadcrust, more pine than I would have expected. Sweet with breadcrust, hints of tropical fruit before lots of broad spectrum citrus and a rumbling resinous bitterness finish things off. Good, thumping stuff.

Tap at the brewpub. Black with a fading light tan head. Aroma of roasted barley, licorice, crackers, some orange. Light bodied but still has a slightly creamy texture - not a summery afternoon today, but this is a good sort of stout to drink in hot weather. Licorice, modest floral bitterness. Very quaffable.

Tap at the brewpub. Gold with a dense white head that lasts very well. Grainy aroma with spices and hints of lemon. Leanish with only a little richness from the malt before firm spicy bitterness. Pretty good.

From a 250ml can on 8/3/2022. Pours a clear super dark ambercola colour with no head. Has an aroma featuring hints of toffee, caramel and dark and dried fruit. Tastes very much as per the nose, malty, with toffee and caramel, with some plum, prune and sultana. There's a hint of warming booze at the back, but damn it's well hidden when you consider the size of the thing. The palate is more slick than syrupy, and the carbonation is barely there. Not sure that a 20 per center should be this easy drinking, but it's goes down nicely, and makes a very formidable and rather enjoyable night cap.
