Can. A subtle move away from their usual 80s cigarette packet design towards more of an early 90s video imprint logo. Nice. Clear amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of pine, breadcrust, grapefruit. Not all that sweet but with solid breadcrust before resin and some grapefruit before a fairly bitter finish. Very Torpedo.

Can. Gold with a large white head (fills a Duvel glass). Aroma is doughy with lightly earthy spices, peach, some banana, lemon pudding. Light bodied, spritzy. Fruity but reasonably lean with a spicy and moderately bitter finish. Would have liked a little drier at the end and a little more bitterness - perhaps bb Christmas day is getting towards an issue - but this is a typically solid offering.

Can. Reddish brown, clear. Fading pale beige head. Aroma of sticky breadcrust, prunes, ripe tropical fruit, grapefruit. Sweet toffee flavours with a mixture of fruit but doesn’t really seem heavy before a lightly spiced citrus- tinged bitter end. Not totally my sort of thing but neatly done.

That's Old as in like Toohey's (Hunter) Old, then. Dark brown, head fizzes away rapidly. Aroma of mocha, caramel, grass. Lowish carbonation - could have been a tad higher for me. Sweeter than Old and the somewhat higher bitterness isn't quite enough to counter it. Lacks the fruity touch of the macro. A bit of a miss.

Can for Canvent 2020. Somewhat cloudy light amber. So, sort of hazy. Not juicy in any way. Some tropical fruit. None of the spice aromas promised, but more malt than expected. All pretty dull and not well-balanced.

Can. Amber. Lots of pine on nose with some fruit pushing through. The tropical fruit is much more to the fore in glass. The pine resin doesn't play that well, making for a lack of balance, and curiously a less punchy beer than I expected.

Can. Pours darkish amber (I was expecting something darker). Mostly caramel on the nose, but with some citrus. More malty in mouth with a touch of resin. Bit thin. Feels pretty retro in that I'm sure I drank something from Mountain Goat like this about a decade ago... That's not a bad thing either.
