Tap at the HCMC brewpub. Poured a crystal clear dark golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, earthy, mineral, big dry coffee. The flavour is moderate bitter with a crisp, fresh, malt, dry spicy coffee, light sweet fruit, dry woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Tap at the HCMC brewpub. Poured a clear copper colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, big dry woody hop bitter. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a crisp, fresh, dry malty, very light fruit, light sweet honey, light floral, big dry hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Well, it’s malty and very bitter, therefore true to the style. If only it were served warm and from a hand pump i’d be much happier! Given how bitter this was I’m surprised that the IBU is only advertised as 25.

The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a smooth, fresh, malty, light fruit, nutty, light floral, big dry woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
