Sacred Fire Golden Ale from Heart of Darkness Brewery

Tap at the Ho Chi Minh brewpub. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a long lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry crisp, earthy malt, woody metallic hop bitter, light citrus, light pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Patient Wilderness Wheat Ale from Heart of Darkness Brewery

Tap at the Ho Chi Minh brewpub. Poured a hazy straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is weak banana, light clove, pepper spice. The flavour is acid citrus, with a light crisp yeasty, fruit palate and a dry yeasty finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at the Ho Chi Minh brewpub. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, light grassy citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light crisp, refreshing woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draft - Spicy Chilli pepper. Jet brown with a rich beige head. Roast and Chilli pepper, pepper builds on the back of the throat. Chilli is a bit overwhelming.

Draft - Sticky and oily citrus and wet grass hops. Clear Amber with a decent white head. Similar to the nose but flavours are flat and a little boring. Finish is a bit dry.

Draft - Grains and some sweet almost dark honey notes. Clear dark copper with a decent white head. Same sweet notes and high alcohol notes. This doesn’t express the hops very well.

Draft - Big Roasty notes with some slight pine. Jet brown with a rich beige head. Lots of roast and pine notes. Rich and thick, wish the hops were a touch more prominent. Nice though.
