Description
Some people say we make the best craft beer in Saigon, Vietnam. Enter the Darkness and decide for yourself... Heart of Darkness is all about duality. Good and evil. Sane and insane. Big, bold, crafted brews that will challenge the way you think about beer. Thirst quenching, session beers that will have you bouncing off the walls. Hop bombs that will give you a kick-to-the-teeth, while still being still balanced and smashable. Whatever your taste, we’ve got it…. Our family, the “Dark Army” is an eclectic mix of weirdos from all walks of life. So… we’ve handcrafted a bunch of beers to pair with our varying passions - from frisbee golf to music festivals, from overindulgent eating with good friends to surfing and hiking… It's a craft beer journey into unchartered territory... #enterthedarkness

330ml can from Ongbalo, Da Nang. Poured a clear yellow golden colour witn a very short-lived, fizzy white head. The aroma is creamy mango. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, with a smooth, fresh, creamy coconut, juicy mango palate. Medium bodied with ultimately soft carbonation.

CBJ bottleshare. Thanks to Tips for the bottle. Near clear brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Dark malts are pretty coffee laden, earthy fruity and satisfying. Some odd but pleasing alcohol notes, mildly floral fruity - slightly sake, must be the Rakki barrel? Interesting and quaffable brew!!

0.33l bottle from Bottles & Bottles, KL, 11%, lot 1587 (28.4.2023). Shared with Hrabren and Ogi. Very dark brown, off-white head gone soon. Pungent, somewhat oxidized aroma, despite all the wax, licorice comes out, prunes, dates, dried fruit really, but yeast as well at moments. Dry taste, brown sugar, mild rye bread, licorice, ending bit woody, slightly sharp, mild alcohol. Ooof. Bit oxidized, bit all over the place, nice at moments, but also... huh.
