The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours a hazy orange, definitely not white. Aroma is spicy and flowery... quite nice. Taste is pretty nice. A spicy tingle gives this some uniqueness points. Very easy to drink, but not bland or watery. Accessible, but adventurous. Let’s also be clear that this is not a pale lager.

A golden amber ale with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with a light orangey character. In mouth, a sweet malt with orange peels, thin and a bit pedestrian.

An orange amber IIPA with a thin lacing off white to mocha head. In aroma, a doughy caramel malt with smooth floral hops, orange pulp, nice. In mouth, a sweet caramel with orange pulp, vinous notes with british hops, not bad.

Decided to get a second flight at Rattle grab a couple more NY rates. Pours clear brown with light head. Nose of malt and toast. Tastes of florals, white pepper, malt, plastic and burnt cheese (kinda like what hits the pan when making grilled cheese). Touch too thin and odd aftertaste.

Drought. Brown with a reddish tint, beige foamy small head, cereal like aroma, semi-sweet hoppy taste, low carbonation, average finish. Tasted a bit weak and flat to me.

Aroma: The nose has some citrus, herbal, and pine hops, caramel malts, and some toast as well
Appearance: This one has a dark red pour with a beige head, and fairly thick, heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is similar to the nose component-wise, it leans bitter without too much sweetness
Palate: The body of this one is medium and it has a decent mouthfeel, the finish is on the dry side
Overall Impression: I thought this was a perfectly acceptable hoppy red beer. It isn't a standout for the style, but it is pretty clear between this and the Half Stack (vs. the Lagrrr) that Singlecut, so far at least, does ales better than lagers.
