Bottle at home from Lisbon, 11th January 2020. Pours a copper colour and clear. Aroma is liquor, barrel, slight tartness. Taste is smooth, vineous, Sherry, wood, barrel, interesting flavours.

Surprisingly easy to drink even though it’s 10,5%. Doesn’t taste boozy. Dry aftertaste. Taste reminds me of port wine.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 33B/17B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L050313 (BBF: DEZ.2020). AROMA: medium-high alcoholic vinous-hot aroma, followed by a background of malt with a caramel character. low woody presence. APPEARANCE: amber color and generally clear. low beige head with low retention, ok for style. TASTE: similar to the aroma with initial medium-low vinous notes (white wine), slight damp wood, and medium-low malt presence with an overall caramelly character. medium-low bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium to medium-high body with low carbonation. slight tanninic presence from wood. OVERALL: overall an ok old ale barrel aged but with low complexity.

Bottle at home picked up in the taproom in Lisbon, 10th November 19. Pours a deep orange, candy colour, lovely white dense head. Aroma is pithy citrus, orange rind. Taste is delicious, classic west coast bitter sweet, pithy, citrus, some pine, loving the 90 IBU, IPA like they used to make! Good beer.

Bottle picked up at the brew pub in Lisbon, at home, 9th November 19. Pours a lovely looking hazy light straw yellow, big white head that dissipates. Aroma is orange flower, citrus and aromatic. Taste is aromatic, citrus flower and rind, candy, soapy, fruity and a little dry, a soapy pleasant bitter finish. Really enjoyable NEIPA.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 6B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L050304 (BBF 05/2020). AROMA: medium-low smoky aroma that tends to fade, with a woody aroma. medium-low malty background with a slightly toasty character. hints of bacon. APPEARANCE: amber colour and clear. medium off-white to beige head, creamy, with good retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma but a bit less pronounced, with medium-low to low smoke with a wood character, followed by low malt background with hints of toasty. medium bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. faint astringency. OVERALL: an ok rauchbier a bit less intense on the flavour.

Tap, Canil, Lisbon. Hazy golden, small white head, nonlasting. Shampoo nose, fruity and sweet. Slightly puckery sour, gentle. Soapy bitterness, light. Ok, nothing more and a bit weird.

Bottle may home picked up in Libeerade, Lisbon, 2nd November 19. Pours a dark orange slight hazy and a lovely big bubbly head. Aroma is old school, pithy, orange, candied citrus. Taste is pithy, bitter grapefruit, slight sweet and good malt balance, also a floral note. Long lingering bitter finish. Lovely IPA
