Description
We are a group of 4 beer enthusiasts. We have never been strangers to crazy ideas - and one evening another crazy idea came up, which now occupies us fully and we have to forget about the others for a while. Brew your own beer in Piešťany - good, honest beer, full of flavor. Ones that we will not be ashamed of, and to which we will gladly invite family and friends.

We visited almost all Slovak microbreweries and many Czech ones to get inspiration. Yes, we were a little envious and peeked. We understood that the beer we want to brew will consist of only 4 basic ingredients - water, barley, hops and yeast. No added enzymes, preservatives and other additives - and therefore no European beer, but honest domestic beer.

And so we started cooking. Each batch is slightly different from the previous one, because we are still not convinced that we have found the ideal ratio of ingredients. But it will come. We are still learning and we really enjoy it :)

Bottle from Beermalade. Hops centered, with moderate body, ever so light maltiness, moderate carbonation. Med-high bitterness and plenty of hops character. There is also moderate diacetyl though, and the hoppiness has a sharp grassy vegetal edge to it. Other than that I get tangerines, citrusy and generally fruity character, slightly overripe. Drinkable, okay.

33cl bottle from MyFood shop in Central, Bratislava. Huge, tan, long lasting head. Color is dark coppery, hazy. Aroma is orange, tangerine, caramel, mellow tropical fruits. Taste is medium malty base, orange, tropical fruits, bit caramel, decent bitterness, bit herbal, more on the sweet side yet not bad at all, enjoyed.

Bottle at home, thanks to Wendigo via the first Euro swap of 2020, 01/03/20. Hazed golden orange with a well formed crown of tightly knot white bubbles. Nose is big lemon zest, floral notes, hint of parma violet, grass, perfumed. Taste comprises big lemon drop, grass, perfume, floral, hint of Earl Grey tea, airy malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness. Crisp and clean, refreshing in fact, but rather 1D and not what I'd look for in the style … lemon drop takes over.

Thanks to cuso for this bottle. Cloudy, amber color and a nice off-white head. Sour-fruity nose with a earthy-hoppy aroma. Taste is resinous, hoppy, decent fruity. Finish is tart and a sneaky chilli-peppers spicyness.

Thanks to cuso for this nice bottle. Pours with an almost clear, amber color and a big, off-white head. INteresting nose, starting with decent fruits follows by burnt caramel and licorice. Taste follows the nose with a bitter-dry finish. Very interesting!

Bottle at home, thanks to a Euro swap trade with Wendigo, 06/02/20. Murky deep amber with a lasting egg shell white head. Nose is big on caramel malts, fruit esters, toffee, dusty hops, brown bread. Taste comprises fruit loaf, light hops, toffee, dried fruits, overly caramelly, brown sugars, biscuit malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with modest hop bitterness. Mediocre affair ... comes over like a below average ESB with some extra hops tossed in.
