Description
Definitive Brewing was formed in 2017 when we came across lightning in a (beer) bottle. After months of planning, we were introduced to our now Director of Brewing Operations, and found an ideal location, all in a single week. Our investment group is made up of friends and family all with ties to Lake Cobbosseecontee in Manchester, ME. After 6 months of tireless efforts to transform an old scaffolding company into a production brewery and tasting room, we opened May 19, 2018 on the legendary Industrial Way.

After two years of operation in Portland, our team chose to open a second tasting room on May 22nd, 2020 in Maine's southernmost town, Kittery in the heart of the shopping district. Kittery is pillar in Maine's food and beverage scene, and the opportunity to become part of this phenomenal town was one that we could not pass up.

At Definitive Brewing we strive to provide a memorable tasting room experience for all of our customers. This is culminated by our wide variety of beers, including our Kolsch (Contee), Session Ales, IPAs, Stouts and Sours! Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you soon!

16 oz. Can. Appearance is a near clear golden straw color. Aroma is Pilsner malt, white bread, and perhaps hay? Flavor is a weak reflection of the aroma. Thinner body. Any German lager brewed in New England I always compare to Schilling. Maybe that isn’t fair. BUT…..

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy golden pour, small creamy white head settles out. Big fruity nose, a little bit of everything; stone fruit, tropical, citrus and a little dank thrown in for good measure. Taste starts with some zesty citrus, bready malts, pineapple, apricot. Dries out towards the finish with a little lingering buzz. Full bodied.

16 oz can dated 02/28/24. Aroma is bold notes of orange and mango. Hops provide citrus and tropical fruit upfront with pine and herbal underneath. The bitterness is sturdy enough to balance all of the sweet malt. Yet, piney and real sweet all at the same time. It is a blend of the two coasts styles.

Aromas are a nice blend of white wine, resin, citrus, MJ and pale malt. Flavors are similar to nose, with great balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Citrus rind bitter finish. Been done before but good beer.

16 oz can. Aroma shows grass and pine. Flavor has enough bread like malt to still balance the West Coast hops. Of course pine and herb dominate the flavor profile. But thankfully, no resin and it’s not overly aggressive. A hint of citrus also. Overall, what you would expect from it.

16 oz can. Aroma is a subtle peach, mild vanilla and bread like malts. The flavor does pull off the peach cobbler type flavor. Although I must say it does get a tad bit sweet. Certainly nice to try but I will not be revisiting it.

Aromas are citrus, sweat, wet grain. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, slightly more sweet than bitter, oxidized hops. Slight medicinal finish. Drinkable.

16 oz can. Aroma is a pleasing mango, guava and soft citrus. The flavor follows suit with a very juicy texture, mild malt backbone is balanced by a soft herb bitterness. Balanced and well rounded NE IPA. Tasty and easy drinking!

Can (12/13/23) pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Opaque orange juice with nice sparkle, thin head with good retention and rings of lacing. Aroma is strong citrus, slight stone fruit, malt. Taste is strong citrus, cracker, vague bubblegum. Smooth, thick texture, alcohol pretty well covered, average carbonation and finish as taste.

16 oz can. Clear copper color with fast dissipating head. Or almond flavor of the same. Caramel, ready mall, and mild raisin or date flavors. Very mild astringency in the finish. Pretty much what you would expect in the style.
