Description
603 Brewery was founded in 2012 by long time college friends. As home brewers, who met while studying engineering, they set out to design high quality, hand crafted beers. As demand for the beers increased, the vision to launch a microbrewery was developed. With a focus on quality and versatility, our hand crafted beer is brewed using the finest ingredients in small batches.

Can from the brewery Hazy dark purple in color with a thin pinkish head that dissipates almost instantly. Extremely tart with bits of sweet fruit deep underneath and a bitter astringency. Not bad.

Can from the brewery Pours a hazy lemon yellow with a decent sized bubbly white head that slowly dissipates. Upon initial pour this beer smelled wonderful, it was dripping with papaya and mango and citrus. Unfortunately that was short lived as the diacetyl reared its head and that all I can smell and taste now.

Sample at the source. Inky black with a stingy tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Rich roast and chocolate. Huge coffee seems to overpower rather than meld with the rest of the flavors here. Still pretty tasty.

Sample at the source. Inky black with a stingy tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Rich roast and chocolate. Caramel and a hint of saltiness meld wonderfully with the base beer here. This beer rocks!

Sample at the source. Inky black with a stingy tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Rich roast and chocolate with a touch of alcohol some earthy hops and light fruitiness to round it out nicely. I like it.

Taster pour from a can at NH Brewfest. Appearance is clear pale yellow (urine-like) with trace sparkle, thin ring of white head. Aroma is tart, sweet grape, with a musty clothes hamper quality. Taste is mix of mildly tart, mildly sweet grape, berry. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a beer that lacks a real identity--a vinous/IPA/saison and while the strength is OK, the flavor is not that compelling. 3.6?

Taster pour on tap at Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Appearance is opaque yellow with decent sparkle at the edges of the glass 1/2-finger width white foamy head with good retention and nice leggy lacing. Aroma is citrusy/fruity balanced by milder bitter pine resin and hint of herb. Taste is moderate fruit (along the melon-grape-pear lines) citrus--not a juice bomb. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with fairly thick granular texture soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall not the most identifiable flavor but decent enough 3.7.

Aroma shows me slight pine and weak citrus. Flavor has a somewhat sweet bread malt backbone. Hops are standard citrus and pine. Nothing off or wrong with it. Just extremely plain in today’s craft market.
