Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of berries. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of berries, but also light notes of bread and fruit (primarily oranges), leading to a dry end. All in all it is just too light for my taste.

Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. An unclear dark orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty combined with notes of oranges. The flavor has a weird metallic wheat note combined with a weird banana note, and with a metallic end. I have a hard time drinking this.

Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. An unclear orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is very "beery", not at all like a wheat beer, more like an industrial pilsner. The flavor is sweet wheaty and a slightly malty background, combined with light notes of citrus, leading to a slightly bitter end. A nice starter beer after a long days sightseeing in Gettysburg Memorial Park, with nothing to drink but water

A black beer with a brown head. The flavor is sweet alcoholic, combined with notes of prunes and roasted malt. The flavor is dry malty with notes of fruit, chocolate, and coffee, leading to a dry chocolate end. Reminds me more of a stout than a Barley Wine.

Tap at Spuyten Duyvil - An impressive English-style barleywine from an American brewer - dark amber/purple color - big malt aroma, with notes of plum, fig, toffee - very low hop profile, opting more for a malt-heavy, "traditional" flavor - toffee, rolled oats, vinous/port-like flavors - a roasty driness comesin late, which is unusual for the style, and kind of unexpected considering the initial sweetness - pretty solid, with well-masked alcohol, but finishes a little weak.
