Mar. '17. On tap, didn't write down where, I guess Leopold's, Split. Yeah, very lightly green colored with a small white head. Weaker aroma of grainy malt and some lemon hops or maybe other, sweeter citrus peel. Flavor was quite sweet, malty, grainy and eggy with only a touch of orange peel. Lightly metallic and lightly artificial. Thin to medium body with shorter, sweeter finish. As a plus, a good thing they've made a real green beer, as a con, well, it simply didn't turn out right.

Tap at the 2018 Croatian Homebrew Competition. They didn't complicate on this one - a pale ale called a Pale Ale. :D Hazy amber body with a huge white head. Berry notes in the light, dry aroma. Dry taste, light fruitiness, mostly the up front herbal bitterness. Aah, Silvije's homebrewing magic didn't transfer that well in this case to the commercial scale, but it's still a solid little beer and I'm glad to have tried it.

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy deep amber pour, thin off-white layer on top. Good lacing. Hops on the nose, pine, herbal character. Medium body, soft carbonation. Thick and creamy mouthfeel, smooth on the palate. Moderately bitter taste. Aroma of malts and hops. Caramel and citrus, rye, strong herbal notes. Grassy. Pine. Vague candy in the aftertaste. Slight all-around herbal spiciness. Dry mouthfeel with a touch of alcohol. Overall, decent IPA worth a try. Not bad.

Bottle, 0.5l. Cloudy copper pour, one finger soapy white head. Low retention, little to no lacing. Caramel malts and coriander on the nose. Thin body, medium to high carbonation. Refreshingly fizzy mouthfeel. Somewhat watery. Mildly bitter taste with subtle malt sweetness beneath. Aroma of caramel malts, coriander, grassy and earthy hops. Vague cardboard. Grainy, a bit dusty. Herbal and spicy, a bit dry. Overall, simple and refreshing. Missed the style a bit, feels more like a blond ale. Still, quite drinkable.

Bottle, 0.5l. Clear golden pour, two finger soapy white head. Medium retention, ok lacing. Good nose, sweet and malty, clean and fresh, lots of grassy and herbal notes. Thin body, medium to high carbonation. Prickly on the tongue, refreshing mouthfeel. Malty sweet at first, goes into grassy hop bitterness toward the finish. Aroma is simple and straightforward but well executed and nicely balanced. Malts, grains, herbs. Grassy hops, somewhat dusty. Hay. Notes of citrus. Regular finish, mildly bitter. Overall, pretty good pilsner. Simple and refreshing.

Jan. 17. On tap at Leopold's. It poured a dark brown, almost black body with a small brown head. Nice peaty and dried fruit aroma of dark malts, including cocoa, caramel, chocolate and everything in between in in the palette of toasted malts. Light cinnamon as well. Nice. Flavor was a bit less impressive, straightforward strong scotch with sourish coffee punch at first. Then, vanilla and some realistic dried fruits notes came in, but the latter had a light metallic touch from oxidation unfortunately. Smoothed with cocoa and chocolate. Full bodied, the most so of any Croatian craft I've tried that far, which I liked the most about it. Long finish followed, while it diminishes slowly with cinnamon and plums dominating its ending part. A bit too intense scotchy but all in all, quite a decent and distinct beer, perfect for the time of year.

Bottle, 0.33l. Amber pour, slightly cloudy. One finger frothy beige head, medium retention, good lacing. Caramel, herbs and some citrus fruits on the nose. Thin to medium body, medium carbonation. Pleasant mouthfeel and texture, really smooth and easy to drink. Mildly bitter taste with subtle sour citrus notes. Aroma is nicely balanced, good caramel malt backbone followed by strong herbal character and citrus hops in the aftertaste. Finishes slightly dry and mildly bitter. Overall, pretty decent beer. Nothing spectacular but perfectly refreshing and drinkable. Good.
