Okay wheat style look and smell, but needs more head and a stronger profile on the nose. Highly drinkable but not memorable - lacking complexity, it went down well in a bar but didn’t linger on the tongue. Medium finish. Just okay.

Draft - Grains with malt backbone. Malty with some cereal. Amber with a thin head. Refreshing and decent. Update - Grainy with some esters. Not as good as before which is saying very little.

Part of a new series apparently inspired by various bands. Of course I’m a fan of You Say Party! so why wouldn’t I want to try out this new brew? Has an okay head and a brown-amber body with no visible carbonation. Aroma is wet malty caramel with a soft hint of hops at the end. Flavour is some intense hoppiness well balanced by barley notes. Dry finish. Good balance on this one, not too heavy and it makes a great session beer.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with medium head. Aromas of grapefruit and malts. Flavors of resin and malts with notes of pine and other bitter hops. Indeed, a mix of an English bitter and a Northwest IPA. Heavier on the later. OK but there is better stuff out there.

Sample, cask, Volo’s Cask Days, savoured on October 27 2012; eye: light caramel, hazy, no effervescence, ho head; nose: cucumber, resinous hops, fresh, mint; mouth: cucumber, resinous hops, fresh, mint, finale in cucumber with presence of hops, medium body, average carbonation, lightly bitter, a bit thin; overall: it’s good! FRANÇAIS Échantillon, cask, Cask Days de Volo, savourée le 27 octobre 2012; œil : léger caramel, voilée, pas d’effervescence, pas de mousse; nez : concombre, houblon résineux, frais, menthe; bouche : concombre, houblon résineux, frais, menthe, finale en concombre avec présence de houblon, corps moyen, carbonatation moyenne, légèrement amère, un peu mince; en résumé : c’est bon!

Black with minimal head.Light roasted nose.Somewhat thin, roast profile, with medium bitterness in finish.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with full head. Aromas of molasses, brown sugar, and roasted malts. Flavors of brown sugar, heavily roasted malts, and a light Christmas cake fruit and spice. Nice enough - warm for 6.5%.

Cask at Central City Winter Cask Fest '13, pours a deep dark mahogany with only a few bubbles for head. Aroma of pure espresso, and perhaps some very light latte like notes. Flavour brings out light espresso, which is obscured by the lactose, creating a milky feel, but still really light-bodied and weak. Decent attempt.

A hazed golden amber IPA with a thin white head. in aroma, loads of cuke pulp, light mint, refreshing. in mouth, an interesting smooth IPA with light watermelon, cucumber mix, mint water and floral hops, nice. Cask at Cask Days 2012.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with red hints and little head. Aromas of black coffee and light chocolate. Similar flavors with a hint of cola and dark fruit. Dry. Medium body. Nice for the low ABV.
