On tap. Pours with a hazy orange body with a thin white head that lasts over the top. Some lace. Aromas are spicy, esters and mild phenols. Dry, grainy, with some citrus zest. Flavors are quite spicy (lemongrass and cinnamon). Dry grainy notes, light citrus character. Phenols (clove), and estery. Pretty high bitterness for a saison. Lively bubbles, slightly slick (suntan lotion) in the finish. Finishes dry.

On cask as 4-Cylinder Mild. Pours with a murky golden body and a lasting white head. Aroma is quite hoppy for a mild. Spicy, herbal, bready. Light esters and a faint hint of diacetyl. Flavors are of light diacetyl, fruit esters, bready, cracker, toasty and slight herbal hops. Medium to high bubbles for a cask beer. Tasty mild!

On tap at the Provisions store. Pours with a deep brown pour and a tan head. Glass coating. Aromas are quite rich, cocoa, wood, chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, molasses and slight smoke. Also a near egginess that reminds me of a souffle. Flavors are rich, light spice, alcohol pepperiness, chocolate, vanilla, molasses, rich toffee. Smooth, creamy and warming. Well done.

Tap. This batch is reportedly 13% ABV. Pours with a hazed orange body with no head. Aromas of spearmint, oak, cola, gum and dates. Flavors of peppermint, medicine, spearmint, chocolate, oak and a ton of alcohol. Very powerful on the mint. Interesting, but not in a enjoyable way. Dry, tannic, boozy and very estery.

On tap at Tony’s Darts Away. Pours with a mostly clear amber-orange body with a small tan head that fades to a ring. Aroma is fruity, berries, light sour notes, tons of wine and light cinnamon. Flavors are funky, fruity, pepper, brett (brux . . . tastes like someone pitched a bottle of orval in this), light lacto, tons of wine notes, currants. Not sure how intentionally soured this is (wine barrel is probably where it picked up the bugs), as the wild flavors don’t mesh beautifully. The brett is quite phenolic. Dry with lively bubbles. Overall its pretty tasty.

On cask at Tony’s Darts Away. Pours with a hazed golden body and a white head. Aroma is lemon, buttery (diacetyl), and wheat. Taste is straw, wheat, grainy, buttery. Thin with absolutely zero hop presence as far as I can tell. Thin, watery, no bubbles. Bland if not bad. The worst beer I have had from Craftsman to date.

Half pour @ Blue Palms on the Monday after their 2nd anniversary party. Color is amber iced tea. In general the beer is a good example of how to make a good acetic0centered light beer. Usually I don’t like acetic as the main character of a beer but it seems to work very well with this light brew. As stated this is a good light sour for the end of summer, really glad I got to try my first Craftsman brew.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden body and a small white head. Aroma of lactic acid, lacto, light funk, some herbs, lavender and sourness. Taste is lacto, sour, funky, pedio, apple skins, and a bit of an acetic finish. Medium to light carbonation, and feels a bit flabby on the palate.
