We specialize in producing distinctive all-malt lager and other German and Czech style beers. We use only the finest, most appropriate malts, hops, water and yeast in our beers. While our lagers are similar to those made in Germany and the Czech Republic, they are our own unique interpretation of the style.
Lager beers are fermented at lower temperatures than ale, using yeast that has adapted to cooler fermentations. Low temperature fermentations create fewer “yeasty” aromas, esters, and flavors that are so common in ales. We brew lagers because we enjoy their smooth malty and hoppy character.

22 oz. bottle, pours a red-tinged dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma of light caramel malts, toasted nuts, some dark fruits - very light notes. Flavour is a bit metallic, with light notes of dark fruits, toasted nuts and caramel. Very weak, with a thin palate. Uncomplex in all aspects. Drinkable, but nothing more.

22 oz. bottle, pours a chestnut brown with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma is very nutty, with some faint dried fruits. Flavour is quite nutty as well, with some subtle dark fruits, and some bready malts. Not sure why this is rated so high, as it's fairly boring with a weak flavour palate. Drinkable, but generic.

Bottle. Pours with a deep cola brown hued body with a medium sized tan head with good lace and retention. Aromas are nutty, medium melanoidin, cola, anise, espresso. Seems like their is a bit of a fruity hop character to it. Molasses. Flavors are dry, roasted grain, nutty, medium leather, grainy, chocolate, dry coffee grounds. A bit overly roasty, malt flavor is slightly muddled. Clean. Very dry. Medium carbonation, slightly thinner body.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of bananas, wheat and clove - pretty standard, but very pleasant. Flavour is fairly subtle, with lots of wheat, a little banana and clove, and more wheat. Kind of watery, mostly characterized by the wheat. I don't get the ratings on this, as it's quite subpar for a hef - fairly weak with lots of missing body. First time I've been disappointed by this brewery.

22 oz. bottle, pours a mostly clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is very authentically German, with toasted caramel malt and crackers. Flavour is very malty, with toasted caramel malts, lager yeast and syrup. Very rich and full-bodied, surprisingly so for a 5% lager. Really great stuff.

Bottle. Pours with a hazed orange hued body with a medium white head that fades. Aromas are bready, grainy, toasty, medium floral hop, grassy, freshly baked biscuits. Clean fermentation characteristics. Flavors are bready, toasty, pils like malt character. Light, but balanced bitterness. Very clean, malty and well rounded. A bit low/lacking carbonation, medium bodied, crisp.

Bottle. Pours with a hazed amber hued body with a medium sized off-white head that fades. Aromas of honey-nut cherrios, malty, grapenuts, melanoidins, nutty, munich, rich, burnt caramel, raisins and figs. Clean fermentation wise. Flavors show a light chlorine initially. Very dry and a bit thin. Grapenuts and a dry malt character. No body at all (and I like dry beers normally). Malt character is decently deep. Medium melanoidins, cereal, nutty. Very clean yeast component. Medium to lively carbonation. Dry but quite thin. Decent dopplebock. Not as flawed as a lot of attempts, but it still misses the mark a bit.

Bottle. Pours with a hazed deep bronze hued body with a large and retentive off-white head. Good lace. Aromas of dark fruit, fig and chocolate from a distance. Closer inspection reveals buckwheat honey, melanoidins, toasty, chocolate, earthy, bready, biscuity, saltine crackers. Multigrain loaf. Clean yeast wise. Moderately bitter. Bready, biscuity, chocolate, earthy, mild roast edge, anise. Medium melanoidins. Earthy, a bit nutty (nut shells). Light fruit (fig/date). A bit too much bitterness/roast. Clean otherwise. Medium to medium high carbonation, medium bodied with a dry finish. Good.
