Overly sweet, strong lactose and burnt sugars - charred maltiness and a abrasive roast/bitterness of the tail end - a bit of cocoa and vanilla on the tail end - meh.

Tap @ DBC. Hazy, reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Slightly creamy, mild cocoa, a bit toasty yet boring aroma. A touch watery, burnt chocolate malty, creamy, mild espresso, a touch charred flavor with a burnt aftertaste.

Tap @ DBC. Cloudy, dark reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Roasty, chocolate malty, slightly burnt caramel aroma with some light, fruity esters. Spicy, burnt caramel, tangy banana/citrus fruity, spicy yeasty flavor with a sticky, sugary aftertaste. This one is perplexing.

Tap @ DBC. I’ve had pretty good luck with ipas here, so hopefully this is a winner. Clear, copper orange appearance with an off white head. Kind of a dull grapefruity, slightly piney, slightly toasty malty aroma. Surprisingly a little overly sweet, sticky toasty malty, grapefruity citrusy hoppy flavor. Kind of a miss.

Dark brown with a moderate hazy - vaguely dunkelweizen-like, with strng wheat and dark bread notes (pumpernickel) - fairly strong clove phenols, as well as other spice notes (white pepper, cardamom) - a bit of all spice and vanilla - spicy finish - once you get past the fact that it is nothing like a saison, it is actually a pretty cool beer.
