Denver Beer Co. was born in our garages with a few batches of home brew and a love for the craft of brewing. Serving only premium artisan ales and lagers, we utilize fresh ingredients and embrace both innovative and old world styles of beer. Similar to a farmer’s table, our beer selections change with the seasons. By brewing in small batches, we can ensure that a few old favorites are always on tap, but new goodies greet visitors each month.

Our brewery is founded on passion for high quality, flavorfully crafted beer and the belief that the best pints are those shared with good company. Drawing inspiration from beer gardens of Bavaria, we designed Denver Beer Co. to be a place where new and old friends can share a table and pint out of doors.

Dark brown, nearly black pour - off white head - aroma is dry and earthy, with note of cocoa, moderate woodsmoke/campfire, roasted nuts, moderate bitterness - smooth, medium body - quite dry, with a lot of bittersweet chocolate notes, moderate smoke, a bit of caramelized sugars on the tail end - deep woody flavor on the finish - mild acidity - you gotta like smoke, but I do, so I think this beer is pretty nice - probably the best beer I’ve ever had here.

Clear amber pour - a medium sweet, highly peaty/earthy beer, with quite a strong alcohol punch on the tail end - peat/smoke tastes a bit artificial, like liquid smoke - a bit vegetal on the finish - also a bit medicinal - a bit messy - meh.

Tap @ Denver Beer Co. Cloudy, brown appearance with a brown head. Light cherry syrup, nutty, toasty malty aroma. Kind of a gross medicinal cherry flavor. Tangy, fruity, roasty malty flavor.

Tap @ Denver Beer Co. Dark red orange appearance with an off white head. Rich caramel, toffee malty, earthy hoppy aroma. Slightly nutty, rich malty, caramel, toffee, earthy, a touch citrusy flavor. Solid session ale.

Turbid gold - musky, earthy apple aroma - flavor is medium dry and spicy, with some fresh apple juice flavor - a light funkiness to it - moderate acidity - even a hint of phenolic character - a bit sweet, but with a bright, punchy acidity that somewhat satisfies the lover of dry ciders - tangy, tannic finish - a bit high in acidity, but a decent cider.

The Wilderness Russian Imperial Stout from Denver Beer Company

The first thing you notice about this beer is the strong presence of nutmeg and cinnamon in the aroma and flavor - since this is simply marketed as an imperial stout and not, say, a "pumpkin pie imperial stout," this takes some adjustment - slick texture, medium to full body - some moderate bitter dark malt, chocolate and alcohol warmth, but the winter spices (especially nutmeg) are quite dominant - why they put all of these spices in a beer that should be plenty complex without them is beyond me - truthfully, though, it seems like without them this would not be nearly as interesting.

What the hell happened here? - turbid reddish brown - smells and tastes like boiled celery, partially digested cherry skins, mild cheese - ground up cherry pit finish - moderate acidity - truly a fucking horrible beer.

Well, certainly less abrasive than their other attempts at a hefe, but in the end, the pendulum swings the other way, resulting in a fairly boring beer - mostly, this is medium bodied and yeasty/doughy, with a fair amount of tart lemon, but not much else - watery texture (aside from the yeastiness) - light citrus finish - inoffensive, but really boring, especially for a style where you expect a lot of character from the yeast.

Murky brown pour - smells and tastes pretty much like straight up cold coffee - good cold coffee, mind you, but still - a tiny bit of vanilla and doughy yeast - they’re lucky I love coffee.

Not all that dissimilar to the Autumn’s amber, but with a slightly stronger, somewhat herbal and floral hop character - moderately sweet toffee, grainy malts and strong roasted nut character - a wee bit of off putting acidity - not bad.
