Description
Denver Beer Co. was born in our garages with a few batches of home brew and a love for the craft of brewing. Serving only premium artisan ales and lagers, we utilize fresh ingredients and embrace both innovative and old world styles of beer. Similar to a farmer’s table, our beer selections change with the seasons. By brewing in small batches, we can ensure that a few old favorites are always on tap, but new goodies greet visitors each month.

Our brewery is founded on passion for high quality, flavorfully crafted beer and the belief that the best pints are those shared with good company. Drawing inspiration from beer gardens of Bavaria, we designed Denver Beer Co. to be a place where new and old friends can share a table and pint out of doors.

Tap @ brewery. Clear, burnt orange appearance with an off white head. Grainy, husky, somewhat toasty malty, earthy hoppy nose. Very grainy, toasty malty flavor. Earthy bitterness. Almost tastes like the grains were ground or at least, finer than usual.

[The first time I had this, the yeast was still pretty present - this second go around, the yeast has dropped out - I guess the yeastiness was masking some stuff, because now there is a fairly sharp acidity - still good, but not great ] Hazy golden pour with a pillowy head - the unmistakeable smell of beechwood smoked malt fills the nose, along with light notes of acidity and mild sweetness, but the smoked malt is the star in the nose - creamy mouthfeel, moderate sweetness - the smoke is not as pronounced in the flavor, but present enough to satisfy, adding a nice woody earthiness to the overall experience - finish is moderately bready, with moderate spicy hops - smooth and very well balanced - I would like even more smoke in the flavor, but it is still damn tasty.

Hazy straw color - supposedly made with peppercorns and a few other things - not always a fan of so many adjuncts in my saison - nose is tangy and wheaty - I get some lemongrass and orange, but none of the anticipated complexities generated by the yeast - the flavor is kind of the same - tastes a bit like a spices wheat beer - a bit of lemon, peppery notes (though it tastes like actual pepper rather than phenols), toasted wheat, a light citric tanginess - lingering wheat and pepper in the finish - it isn’t bad, but there is no real character from the yeast, which I guess is why they added the adjuncts - a decent hot weather beer, but not entirely saison-like - kind of a fitting name, I guess.

[Update, 2/12 - new batch is husky as fuck - fuuuuu!] Clear gold - significant lace - nose of light mineral, crackery malt, grassy hops - flavor is clean, lightly sweet pils malt up front - this makes way for potent, grassy and peppery hop character - some crisp, dry mineral character on the tail end, with long lingering spicy hoppiness - very simple but very flavorful, as a good pils should be - wish is was a bit less sweet, with a slightly cleaner finish, but otherwise pretty darn solid.

Hazy gold - just like the lime wheat but, well, without the lime, which is actually an advantage because the pomegranate is fairly subdued, so the earthy wheat shines a bit more - pomegranate adds some acidity, countering the rather heavy yeastiness, but the flavor of the pomegranate isn’t very apparent (if I had to guess the fruit, I probably would not be able to) - overall, much like the kaffir, it is very light, nicely balanced, with a subtle acidity that makes it nice and refreshing for a hot day.

Turbid cola color - minimal lace - nose of chocolate, roast, light mineral character, mild background cedar and ashiness, some lactose - you can feel the yeastiness in the mouth - slightly creamy - semi-dry and moderately acidic - some bittersweet chocolate and espresso - finish is yeasty and somewhat acidic - merely okay.

Dark brown beer - nose of maple, chocolate, caramel, light woodsmoke - medium body - fairly dry up front, with notes of bitter bakers chocolate and roast - moderate maple sweetness through the middle - tail end is light woodiness and smoke - lightly bitter finish - the overall impression is that of bacon covered in maple syrup - nice.

Seems a lot like the rye, but with no rye and a heftier hop bill - hazy straw - nose of spicy hops and earth - very light background dms detracts a little - full carbonation in the mouth - a little bit doughy/yeasty - crackery malt through the middle sets the stage for potent, spicy, citrusy hoppiness through the tail end - that dms pops up just a little in the finish, but the hops cover it well - decent, but needs the kinks worked out.

Thankfully, this one lacks the flaws of the confluence - hazy straw color - nose of light toasted grains and rye - flavor is light but full - a lot of toasted grains, moderately bitter hop - the tail end is all peppery, with spicy rye - mellows into a light tanginess from the rye before the lingering, crisp, spicy finish - well done.

Lightly hazy rust color - nose is of husky grains, earthy hops and peanut skins - flavor continues with this husky character, like raw, ground up grains - the peanut skin quality is also quite pronounced in the flavor - some earthy hops, but the other character overpowers it - something off about this one. 545210
