500mL capped bottle from Chuck’s CD. I don’t feel so bad paying $10 for this bottle when their recent release have been like $15 for 375mL. Fucking bastards make me think this price is a good deal. Anyway, cloudy pale beer. Its a bit too messy. Definitely a funky, lightly tart wheaty beer. But its a bit too thick, a bit too unruly and not clean enough. I can drink it again but I would prefer a more centered, even keeled beer that accentuates the farmhouse character and malts separately as opposed to one ball of stuff.

500 ml bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and foamy dark tan head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big nutty dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, coffee/lactose, and moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big nutty dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of nutty coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, coffee/lactose, and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/hop bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice coffee milk stout. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, coffee/lactose, and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at Saraveza Farmhouse Festival, pours a cloudy dull yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out complex brett yeast and regular saison yeast. Flavour is along the same lines, with saison and brett yeast in good harmony. Dry and biscuity finish. Very good.

Bottle from Star Grocery. It pours a very pale yellow color with a medium fizzy white head that disappears. The aroma has some lemon, white grape, gooseberries and hints of an herbal parsley thing going on. Not too strong. The flavor is very sour with more of the white grape, lemon, gooseberries and less of the herbal/vegetal thing I got in the aroma. The flavor really smooths out as it warms with more of the tropical fruit coming out in place of the lemon. The body is pretty light with a sour pucker in the finish. Hardly any bitterness. Pretty good.
