Description
OUR REASON
We are a 30-barrel production brewery and tasting room located in Charlottesville, VA.
Reason Beer was born of 20 years of friendship and more than a decade of brewing between founders J. Patrick Adair, Jeff Raileanu, and Mark Fulton.
Since leaving Charlottesville in the early 2000s to pursue their education and careers, Mark, Jeff, and Patrick stayed in constant contact through a shared passion for beer and love for their hometown.
In 2017, after three years of careful planning, recipe development, and design, we have reconvened in Charlottesville to create a world-class brewery.
Reason Beer was founded by three lifelong friends returning home on a mission to make the world’s greatest craft beer. We strive to create beers that exemplify balance, creativity, and flavor.

Waxed and capped half liter bottle from the brewery, 3/10/22. Bottled 7/30/20. “Drink fresh or cellar for a year or more.” So, I should drink it sometime between the day its bottle and the end of space and time? Got it. Classy wax, with an actual seal pressed on top of the cap. I’ve already got a pretty lengthy rating and haven’t even opened it yet! Doesn’t look great. Murky dark brown, looks like mud. Large tan cola-like head fades quickly. Lots of visible carb. Aroma of cider apples, caramel, vegetal notes, bit of funk. Taste is funk, leather, tart apples, caramel, oak. Slick, high carb. Interesting beer. Nice.
