Crisp and very clear golden coloured body with a light tint of straw and a very small amount of a pure white head on top. Aroma of dry grass, light hay, some subtle flowers and a small sprinkling of honey, but not much here in the nose, at least. Light-bodied; Very grassy and herbal qualities dominate with some floral aspects, a good dryness, but a lot of light malts come through, with some of the lager yeast that brings out a little bitterness, and no real hop flavours at all, even mild ones. Aftertaste is dry, very grassy, floral and a touch sweet from the honey and subtle citrus fruits, but not much going on here aside from the malts and soft yeast. Overall, a decent enough, but fairly underwhelming kolsch that has some moderate flavours, but nothing complex of course, but missing in terms of hops and crisp characteristics that are slightly present, but not in the way of the best in the style. Great to sample a new brewery here in Washington (I wasn't aware of it at all!), but not my favourite beer so far - I'll definitely be looking for others though, from the brewery! I sampled this twelve ounce can, given to me after a hockey game in Arlington (Ballston), Virginia on 17-November-2021 - Thanks JP!

750ml bottle, lightly hazy dark gold, cap of white head. Boozy nose, some wood, some odd spice, a little treacle. Flavor is grainy and boozy. Where's the dark fruit or dark candy? Full bodied finish. Bit of a miss. 7 3 6 3 11

10oz pour at the brewery is a murky, dark orange with plenty of lacey white head. Nose has pine, orange candy, honey, blood orange or persimmon. Flavor has some spice, the citrus, malt, pine, still some persimmon. Finishes full bodied, sticky and bitter. 7 4 7 4 13

Pint at the brewery pours a clear gold, creamy white head. Nose has citrus and tropicals, some herbs and grass. Flavor is malty, orange, herbs, grass. A bit more straight forward. Finishes just off dry, light bitterness. Session pale. Would make a good sixer. 7 4 7 4 13
