Founder and Chief Beer Officer, An Bui has gained international recognition in his years spent working at his family-owned restaurant, Mekong, the Vietnamese eatery located in Richmond, Virginia. Founded in 1995, Mekong flourished into an award-winning spot for beer enthusiasts because of its wide variety of rare and international beers and expansive food menu. After years of spreading his passion for craft beer to the local community and throughout, Bui decided to take things a step further. On September 2, 2014, An opened the doors to The Answer Brewpub, his very own craft brewery. Featuring 56 taps, 2 bars, and an exceptional stage area for live music, The Answer has become another means of An’s continuous vision to expand the Richmond beer community.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and has good fine minerally carbonation. Soft sweet malts, a fairly sweet creaminess. Crisp pine hop intro. Reasonably bright if soft citrus with an undertone of Cashmere melon. I was hoping for some old school Comet and Chinook hard egded hops, but they are reasonably well behaved here. Smooth finish, a very mild hop spice. Tad on the sweet side but an enjoyable dipa.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 15/01/23. Cherry red with a light crimson crown that veers to the edge. Nose is tart red berries, cherry skins, blueberry yoghurt, hedgerow. Taste comprises tangy red berries, funk, lactic twang, sweet berry kelly. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tarte berry edge. Okay sour ... a touch on the sweet side for my liking.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 14/01/23. Lightly hazed golden orange with a decent lasting just off white covering. Nose is orange zest, grass, pine needle, papaya, light hop spice. Taste comprises orange pith, mango flesh, soft malts, pine nip, ripe melon, pineapple. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with lightly resinous hop bitterness. Decent easy drinking DIPA.

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Wingman dave. A mostly clear bright red, orange coloured pour with no head. Aroma is odd vanilla, tangy cherry, red velvet cake, hot alcohol, hot alcohol. Palate is medium sweet, tangy, mellow carbonation, sticky. Flavour is composed sticky berries, cherry, vanilla, red velvet cake, A little odd.

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Wingman dave. A translucent golden orange coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is smei sweet, sticky orange, midget gems, orange rind, mango, opal fruits. flavour is composed of semi sweet, midget gems orange, sticky midget gems, mango, creamy apricot. Palate is semi sweet, creamy, rounded, moderate carbonation. Good.

Can from Brew Export UK. Jet black pour with a tan head. Rich aromas of dark chocolate, banana toffee, milky coffee, profiteroles. Taste is banana toffee, maple, dark chocolate, creamy coffee, more profiteroles. Boozy sweet finish. Delicious 😋
