Not bad for the style, with a promising briny streak on the back end but lacking a good, rich, formidable stout for the oysters to complement. Dark roasted malt notes with chocolate undertones and layers of dark fruit and anise are nice, as is the salt that comes through in the finish, but needs a bit more body to be great. Biggest drawback is the lifeless pour, coming out thin and brown-black with a brief fizzy head and no lace. Otherwise, a serviceable stout that borders on being very good. Tastes better than it rates.
