Description
Ecliptic Brewing is a venture from John Harris, an Oregon craft brewing icon. As a result of his efforts at McMenamins, Deschutes and Full Sail, craft beer lovers have been enjoying John's beers for over thirty years.
The name Ecliptic Brewing unites John’s two passions: brewing and astronomy. The ecliptic is earth’s yearly path around the sun, and we celebrate this journey through the seasons with the food and beer we make. We rotate our scratch-made menu every six weeks, always highlighting seasonal and local ingredients whenever possible. Our brewhouse showcases several beer releases each year, ranging from modern and experimental brews to long standing favorites. And through it all, we respond to our customer's desires and introduce them to new experiences that keep them coming back for more.
Flagship beers include Starburst IPA, Carina Peach Sour Ale, and Capella Porter. Our seasonal series changes five times a year and includes favorites such as Quasar Pale Ale and Filament Winter IPA. We also brew a selection of Special Releases and Cosmic Collaboration beers.
You can find Ecliptic beers in restaurants and retail shops in Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho, Colorado, North Carolina, Canada, and Japan.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark and ruddy, but clear, with a large foamy beige head that did some lacing. Aroma is toffeeish with some spice. Med body. Flavor is the aroma but add some grass to the spice - Noble hop. Malty, but dry enough. Moderately bitter. More than moderately tasty.

Clear orange body with almost no head. Light citrus aroma. Light hop taste with malt. More like a pale or a Cape ale than an IPA

Can from the BA Big Stout box. Inky black color with a huge tan head that shows great retention. Rich coffee chocolate and peanut butter nose and flavor. Light earthy hop and dark fruits round this nicely.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark golden pour, light cloudiness, thick, fluffy white head. Gorgeous. Aroma is subtle grainy, malty notes, minor hoppy notes at the back. tase starts with the malts, light caramel notes, with hops sliding in almost undetected underneath. Light citrusy notes, gentle bitterness. The hoppy notes remain on the palate. Nice smooth, creamy feel.

Pretty hazy golden and peach coloured (true) body with a nice, but very fast-dying off-white head that only shows a single centimetre at first and fades to just a thin layer after a few seconds. Aroma of peach, apricots, funky bretty and lactobilly yeast notes with a light dose of hay and grasses, but the flowers and very soft peach notes are strongest with a good dose of the funky yeast here in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Pretty assertive fresh fruit notes show the peach notes front and centre with a lot of flowers and dry notes and an enjoyable funkiness from the yeast and finishing with a soft sweetness and tartness. Aftertaste shows a very easy-drinking, crisp and super apricoty, peachy finish that has a very mild sweetness, a soft tartness and a crisp wheatie bite that is super easy-drinking, enjoyable and showing some light complexity, especially for the style that makes this enjoyable throughout. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Portland (Pearl District), Oregon on 27-March-2021 for US$3,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 24-January-2023.
