12 oz. can, pours black with a medium beige head. Aroma is super old school, with medium roast, a touch of cola, and some earthy hops. Flavour has moderate roasted malt, earthy hops, and plenty of lingering bitterness on the finish. Not the thickest body, nor most complex malt profile, but I’m digging the roast and intense hoppy bitterness on the finish. Rather inaccessible to the modern palate, but I’m down with it.

355mL can. Pours black with a beige head. Lots of chocolate, roasted malts, and molasses on the nose. Flavour has chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, burnt sugars, a touch of iodine, and tons of bitter hoppiness. Nice old-fashioned imperial stout with decent malts and loads of bittering hops.

On tap at Loyal Legion - Beaverton, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has a vegetal character, light pine, citrus, and biscuity malt. Flavour likewise has a rather herbaceous, almost vegetal, hop character, light pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Too herbaceous and vegetal in hop expression. Doesn’t work for me.

355mL can. Pours hazy golden blonde with a white head. Juicy mango, candied oranges, and sweet malts on the nose. Flavour has more juicy tropical fruit, mostly mango with some other stone fruits and oranges. Malts are quite sweet, heavy but not cloying. A touch boozy on the finish. Nice balance between the malts and hops, though more bitterness to balance out all of the sweet flavours would be even better. As it warms up a bit I'm the hops are coming across a bit stale, might be an old can.

Pint can. Grapefruit citrus aroma with notes of berry, orange, tangerine, floral hops, grass and pine resiny hops. Pours clear golden colored with a finger of white head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts with orange, tangerine, berry and grassy hop flavors. Finishes dry and a bit dank with grapefruit, floral and pine resiny hops. Very nice, but a bit bitter.

Pint Can. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow with a meager fizzy white head. The aroma is mostly grapefruit with some sweetened lemons. The taste, liek the aroma is mild citrus featuring grapefruit and lemons and some rock candy on the back end. The palate is light and crisp with soft carbonation. Finishes medium ibn duration. Overall: Decent--But I still don't know what differentiates a "New Zealand" style IPA from any other.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting XVI (Last Call) on 10/09/2025. Hazy copper-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Sparse patches of lace. Malt, fruit and hops in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, citrus and piney hops. The finish is boozy with a malt and bitter piney aftertaste. Above average overall.
