Description
Ecliptic Brewing is a venture from John Harris, an Oregon craft brewing icon. As a result of his efforts at McMenamins, Deschutes and Full Sail, craft beer lovers have been enjoying John's beers for over thirty years.
The name Ecliptic Brewing unites John’s two passions: brewing and astronomy. The ecliptic is earth’s yearly path around the sun, and we celebrate this journey through the seasons with the food and beer we make. We rotate our scratch-made menu every six weeks, always highlighting seasonal and local ingredients whenever possible. Our brewhouse showcases several beer releases each year, ranging from modern and experimental brews to long standing favorites. And through it all, we respond to our customer's desires and introduce them to new experiences that keep them coming back for more.
Flagship beers include Starburst IPA, Carina Peach Sour Ale, and Capella Porter. Our seasonal series changes five times a year and includes favorites such as Quasar Pale Ale and Filament Winter IPA. We also brew a selection of Special Releases and Cosmic Collaboration beers.
You can find Ecliptic beers in restaurants and retail shops in Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho, Colorado, North Carolina, Canada, and Japan.

355mL can. Pours hazy golden blonde with a white head. Juicy mango, candied oranges, and sweet malts on the nose. Flavour has more juicy tropical fruit, mostly mango with some other stone fruits and oranges. Malts are quite sweet, heavy but not cloying. A touch boozy on the finish. Nice balance between the malts and hops, though more bitterness to balance out all of the sweet flavours would be even better. As it warms up a bit I'm the hops are coming across a bit stale, might be an old can.

Pint can. Grapefruit citrus aroma with notes of berry, orange, tangerine, floral hops, grass and pine resiny hops. Pours clear golden colored with a finger of white head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts with orange, tangerine, berry and grassy hop flavors. Finishes dry and a bit dank with grapefruit, floral and pine resiny hops. Very nice, but a bit bitter.

Pint Can. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow with a meager fizzy white head. The aroma is mostly grapefruit with some sweetened lemons. The taste, liek the aroma is mild citrus featuring grapefruit and lemons and some rock candy on the back end. The palate is light and crisp with soft carbonation. Finishes medium ibn duration. Overall: Decent--But I still don't know what differentiates a "New Zealand" style IPA from any other.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting XVI (Last Call) on 10/09/2025. Hazy copper-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Sparse patches of lace. Malt, fruit and hops in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, citrus and piney hops. The finish is boozy with a malt and bitter piney aftertaste. Above average overall.
