Deep and crisp amber, copper and light brown coloured body with a very large, horribly large-bubbled and soapy tan head that starts off at around ten (yes 10!) centimetres tall that fades decently, but leaves a pretty ugly lace on the sides of the glass, all the way to the top! Aroma of rye (duh!) malt, light toffee, smoked grain, a dash of caramelised sugars, some nuts, earth and also a dose of bright and bitter hops that do show some alpha acids as well. Medium-bodied; Super rich, grainy, rustic, earthy and incredibly deep malts with a lot of yeast and nuttiness there as well, but the deep qualities are strongest here. Aftertaste shows some light hoppy flavours, a good deal of flowers and grain, but the earthy and especially malty notes dominate with a lot of alcohol coming through the cracks and some light sweetness, but grainy, yeastie and nutty flavours are quite strong throughout this one as well. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Ye Old Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 29-November-2020 for US$2,79 sampled at my house here in Washington on 10-January-2021.

Bottle thanks to Matt! Pours clear golden pink, small white head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is cherries, funk, wood, somewhat acetic. Flavor is quite light on tartness despite the acetic noes, with light plus buggy funk. Medium body
