Super hazy deep orange and bronze coloured body with a fairly thin, single centimetre tall tan head that fades quickly and leaves barely a layer on top. Aroma of deep citrus fruits, resin, pine, flowers, with a great deal of malt body noticeable, tons of sugars in the nose and a deep peppery and very astringent scent of alcohol. Full-bodied; Super rich and dense malty mouthful at first with a lot of citrus fruits, a good deal of dry peppery and floral components with a lot of resinous, dank sweetness at the end. Aftertaste is pungent, dry, very bitter from the hops of course, but at least quite complex from the range and profile of all the hops, with great support from the malt and sugars too...that leave this rich throughout. Overall, a very strong, but fairly well-balanced and nuanced beer with great range of the hops, but yes, a lot of pungency from the alcohol, malt and sugars. Nice to have from the countryside and hopefully I can visit here sometime, but with beers this 'big', my wife would be driving back to the city with the kids and me asleep in the passenger seat. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Ye Old Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 09-February-2021 for US$5,39, canned on 26-January-2021 'Pack Your Bags', sampled at my house here in Washington on 14-March-2021, Pi Day.

Ever so lightly hazy orange, copper and bronze coloured body with a deep microfoamed, but thin, just off-white head that fades very quickly to just a thin layer, but leaves a nice lace on the side. Aroma of light cleanser, flowers, grass, pine and a touch of sour candy, all with a touch of both lactose and alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied; Very sweet candy-like flavours dominate at first with a nice slightly tart, soured citrus fruit flavour with some melons noticeable and a touch of hay, with a subdued resinous bite showing some alpha acids, but ending nicely with balanced malts. Aftertaste is still fairly rich with the lactose and sweetness coming through, but the soured and tart citrus fruits, kiwi and papaya [lightly tropical] flavours hit hard. Overall, a very interesting and complex beer, but especially as an IPA. This sort of blends styles and jumps from a New England to a West Coast IPA to a brut then to a 'milkshake', but all-in-all, it's a complex, hoppy, but not bitter beer with great flavours and better complexity. This makes me want to drive a long way out to visit the brewery in the sticks, but until then, I'll try to find more, here in the city. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Ye Old Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 09-February-2021 for US$5,39, canned on 13-November-2020, 'balanced XII', sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-February-2021.

Ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish, pure white head that fades quickly and leaves nothing behind. Aroma of wheat, coriander seed, bananas, curacao, light grass and a dash of flowers without much else - but seems crisp and subdued. Light-bodied; Crisp wheat and yeast flavours dominate with some breadiness and a good deal of cloves and coriander seed spiciness with a light sweetness from the curacao and full orange notes. Aftertaste shows a dry, very crisp and spicey component with the coriander seed and herbal components with a light sweetness, but a orange and citrusey bite cuts through just about everything - including the wheatie flavours. Overall, a nice, dry but very spicey beer with a lot of wheat and yeast notes and an easy-drinking finish and a smooth bite - very nice for the style and great for the heat of summer here in Washington. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 25-September-2020 for US$2,87 sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-July-2021.
