Crisp and dry, nice presentation, small creamy head with lots of lacing. Subdued hops add nice texture and character. Clean and smooth.

On tap at the brewpub Amber with a small quick head. Small ring of soapy lacing. Malty with a funky bitterness. Not very hoppy or bitter for an IPA. Just ok

Draft @ Brewpub. Hazy orange color with sticky beige head and lacing. Citrus, fruit, and light pine in the nose, followed by citrus and floral hops. Plenty of hop bitterness, but other than the citrus the actual flavor development needs a bit of work. Kind of an IBU monster, if you like heavy handed hops this isn’t too bad at all. I like hops, so overall I liked this.

Draft @ Brewpub. Pours golden orange with a finger of sandy head. Nice clarity. Nose is piney and sweet, very inviting. The flavor of citrus, fruit, and pine is well done and a light use of malt keeps the hop flavors in the forefront. Overall very nicely done.

Draft @ Brewpub. Brown pour with a small tan head. Nose is roast, smoke, chocolate malt, and a little sweet. Really drinkable. Sweet, with faint roast and mild smoke. The sweetness meshes well with the earthy grain background. Sessionable level of intensity. I liked this quite a bit, but a little sweetness in this style is welcome in my book.

Draft @ Brewpub. Mahogany pour with an inch of creamy beige head. Served in a snifter, that was nice. Sweet in the nose, but in addition to phenols it had a little chemical scent that reminded me of Breakfree. Not a good thing. Fortunately it is not present in the taste; dark fruit and esters to go with the maltiness. Missing the Belgian yeast… smooth and overall mild. The 10% abv was well hidden. I do however have a hard time calling this a quad as it fell far short of expectations. Not terrible, it just needs refinement.
