Bottle 750ml.Clear medium to dark amber red colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sugar, tobacco, moderate yeasty, yeast. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dried fruit, sweet dried fruit, wood - tobacco. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120330]

Bottle @ home, 8.1%. Clear dark brown color, short creamy head. Aroma of biscuit, coffee, milk chocolat, bit roasted. Soft sweet taste, creamy texture, moderate bitter taste. Again lots of chocolat. Wow, this stuff is seriously good! Not overly complex, but great balance between sweet and bitter with the shift on the sweet side.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a hazy amber with a beige head. Odd star anise aroma. Medium body, tart rotten fruit, subtle roast and a bitter finish. Very odd and non-bockish. 310312

Dark black colour with some nice redness shining through - decent off-white head. Smells roasty, chocolate and a bit soapy. Tastes roasty, dark chocolate, coffee and hops. Great carbo, full body.
