I was looking forward to trying this beer, but was disappointed in a lack of smoke aroma or flavor. I think the base is an amber ale or marzen, some malt flavors there. I like the effort, but up the smoke.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark fruits and Belgian yeast with a bit of earthy rye for the backbone. Flavor combines dark fruits and rye with an earthy rye and dark grain finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a creamy light brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is full of cinnamon with a bit of vanilla and sweet smoke as well as a hint of apricot. Flavor has an odd combination of apricot and smoke with underlying notes of cinnamon and vanilla.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of bacon and smoke notes with a sweet grain backbone. Flavor is more reserved with a bit of smoke that combines with sweet grains.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dark brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet dark grains with strong roasted malts that lend a hint of bitterness. Flavor starts with sweet dark grains but finish is full of roasted malts and a bread note.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellowish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a a good amount of flora and grass with some light sweet grains backing. Flavor has grass throughout with hints of resin and floral backed by grains.
