Description
Jaanihanso is a family owned cider house and orchard on a historic farm dating back to the 18th century. Our family bought Jaanihanso in 2000. Our knowledge of the farm’s history originates from the papers that we found from the house, and from older villagers stopping at our gate to reminisce about the “old days”.
The renovation story of the estate has been in sync with our own growing pains. Some years with larger construction works, some years not that much, but there has been constant mutual bettering. In 2013, when the last bits of the house had been refurbished, the car had to move out from its brand-new pigsty-turned-garage to make room for cider. Famously, a garage is the best place to start a venture.

Many thanks to my Secret EU-Santa martjoobolut for this bottle! 2015 vintage. Fantastic intense rich fruity concentrated apples. The ice cider starts fresh and intense. Viscous, fresh, intense fruity. Long thick aftertaste of dried apples, spices, tart and sourish with a great concentrated fruitiness. Fantastic!!

Sampled at Gunnfryds Barmy Army new year’s ticker party 2017. Cloudy straw yellow body with a small white head. Aroma is mild apples with yeast, cellar notes and farmhouse. Flavor is funky Brett, acidic lemon, wood, farmhouse and almost just a hint of apples. Medium body and nice, funky aftertaste. Very refreshing and rather unusually apple cider, tasty and exiting. Not a regular cider, not close to a Spanish cidra either, something quite unique and I like it a lot.

Bottle. A lighlty hazy pale yellowish golden cider with some white bubbles. Interesting aroma, it’s funky, piney and resiny on the nose, with a nice apple touch. Sort of flowery too. It’s medium bodied, dry and nicely carbonated, with a pleasant bitterness in the back. Some funky notes in the flavor too, with pine cones, resin and a nice apple touch. Long finish with the apples taking over in the very end. Sure an unusual one, nice too. 170107

Many many thanks to my Estonian Secret Santa 2016 for this bottle! Slightly cloudy in the glass, fresh floral nose. The dry-hopped cider starts fresh and floral. The hop-bitterness with the aroma-oils are there, fresh and sourish-crisp apples as well. Long intense fruity fresh and round balanced aftertaste. Fascinating hop-apple combination. The piney floral hops remain on the tongue with a nice sourish and fruity fresh cider apple aroma. Great!
