Bad Beat Brewing opened in July 2014 by Nathan Hall born out of his love of poker and craft beer. Never one to shy away from a gamble, Nathan sold his house and spent every dollar in his bank account to fund his dream. A Bad Beat in the poker world means you’re the underdog and starting a craft brewery in Las Vegas is definitely against the odds.

From the bottle pours hazy lemon color with thin head. Faint aroma of citrus taste is not very sour and mildly tropical.

Sample at Khoury’s in Henderson, NV. Dark brown color with a thin light beige head that diminishes quickly to a wispy film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and chocolate. Light to medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, roasted coffee and slight hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at Khoury’s in Henderson, NV. Clear pale orange-gold color with thin white head that evaporates quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Khoury’s in Henderson, NV. Brownish-amber color with a medium creamy light beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Light to medium body with flavors of caramel malt, molasses and herbal hops. Some fruit in the background. The finish is sweet with a graham cracker and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Khoury’s in Henderson, NV. Slightly hazy bright orange color with a medium white head that dissipates quickly to a sparse outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of wheat, bananas and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal wheat, banana and bready malt. The finish is sweet with a fruity and wheaty aftertaste.
