Since Arrogant Bastard Ale was first unleashed upon the unsuspecting public in 1997, the brand has been braving bold territory and upsetting dandies, milquetoasts and fizzy yellow beer drinkers in great numbers. Massively successful, and ever full of vip and vinegar, Arrogant Bastard Ale split off from the restrictive confines of Stone Brewing in 2015. And now, the brethren of Liquid Arrogance is free to explore, cavort and roam how they damn well see fit. Canned. Pours deep amber with huge beige head. Basically both the aroma and taste are dominated by prominently bitter hops that are underpinned with well balanced sweet malty/caramel notes. On the palate it’s bittersweet first and laters turns to lingering bitterness. Not an overcomplicated beer, but surely a well made one.

Tap at Hopa. Deep brown, thick head. It shows sweet booze, sticky, super bitter hops, some caramel and other grainy notes. Like a strong west coast style IPA amd barley wine mix, just not quite balanced.

A sublime blend of sticky oily high alpha hoppy goodness. Loads of citrus, some nice woody, almost vanilla flavors from the oaked bastard. Some nice bready sweet malts. Really an incredible beer and incredibly easy drinking.

Looks like I’m rating 2000 for the Arrogant Bastard!
I’ve had the Oaked version, and loved it, i’m quite anxious to try this one out!
Deep amber pour, thick juicy, sticky head. Aroma is thick juicy aromatic hops. Some nice earthy hops mixed in with piney resins, and some citrus. The flavour is also very hoppy, lots of pine, and some citrus in the end. Good malt to balance out the beer. Wicked bitter finish that stick to the back of my throat, what an awesome beer!

very dark copper/mahogany color.
Aroma is quite malty, and lots of floral hops, and citrus, with a really nie brown sugar/caramel sweetness. Flavour has some really nice caramel maltiness to it. Loads of floral hops, and a really awesome bitterness to finish. The alcohol is there, and gives a nice warming to your throat, but other than that the 10% is hidden VERY well. Wow. best american stone i’ve ever had, hands down!

nice citrus aroma, very much like an IPA, oak is obvious, and very welcome. nice bitterness to it, but not too strong. Very well balanced, overall, very nice beer.

Lattina. Il gusto al naso è indirizzato verso l'orzo tostato. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera normale e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di aspetto velato. Il colore è ambrato rossiccio carico tendente marrone. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è deciso. La forza gustativa è elevata e la permanenza è buona. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. Al gusto vengono donati toni di caramello, miele, frutta secca, luppolo, resina e agrumi.

From tap at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam. Aroma is big malt, plenty of caramel, toffee, hops, pine resin, fruits, tropical notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and heavily bitter. Body is above medium. Heavy and big beer, strong rich malty and bitter. Vey enjoyable.
