On tap at Lavery, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out plenty of resinous hops, bready malt, and toasted caramel. Flavour is malty and hoppy, with plenty of resinous hops, caramel malt, and a sort of cough syrupy notes that is off-putting. The hop-malt balance is decent but that syrupy character throws me off. Lingering bitterness on the finish even doesn't kill the syrupiness.

On tap at Lavery, pours a somewhat hazy golden with a small white head. Nose brings out bitter pine cones and citrus zest, with a thin biscuity malt base. Flavour is bitter and biting, with a nice hop expression featuring notes of pine, grass, citrus zest, and some floral undertones. Crisp biscuity malt to balance. Crisp, bitter and biting. Very good.

Lively white head on a highly carbonated unclear golden coloured body. Spicy, herbal & zesty aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & soft with a sticky back. Sweet citrus, spiced, cardamom & peppery tastes with a zesty finish. Nice one.

Honey and lightly copper coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of grass, perfume, hay, wheat and a lot of yeast/bread. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal flavours at first that give way to perfume, a touch of grassy hop bitterness and a lot of wheat and yeast flavours that show a subtle complexity coupled with a hint of sugars. Aftertaste shows a mellow herbal and tea-like flavour that has some astringent notes and a hint of bitterness from hops, over top of the light sugars and wheat that are noticeable throughout. Overall, a decent wheat-based ale with a touch more hops than normal, but that isnt saying too much. Nice to sample, but definitely not worth going out of the way for by any means. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outle in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-December-2015 for US$1,97 sampled at home in Washington on 01-June-2017.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a light brown color with a nice sustaining finger’s worth of light tan foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Light lace.
The aroma had some hazelnut roast, light ash/smoke, dark malts, subtle milk chocolate, sly dark chocolate with some earthy/grassy hop bitterness at the end.
The flavor was smoky with the hazelnut roast and sweetness fairly bold and up front. Mild smoky aftertaste and finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a steady carbonation that was felt but fine. ABV felt fine. Pretty smooth/pillowy along my tongue.
Overall, super nicely done smoked beer that I would love to have again, that was a real treat. Thanks Mom and Dad!
