Description
Occidental Brewing Co. was founded in 2011 by Ben and Dan Engler with the goal of making well-balanced continental-style beers in the land of IPAs: Portland, Oregon. Finding a niche with beer drinkers who had grown tired of the hops arms race, we quickly grew (but not too much) with our lineup of approachable, sessionable, and award-winning ales and lagers. We began canning our core beers in 2013 and now bottle multiple seasonal offerings as well. Over the years we expanded our distribution from our Portland brewery to much of Oregon, Western Washington, Nevada, Idaho, and the occasional shipment to Japan. Look for Occidental beer in your local supermarket, bottle shop, bar or restaurant. Prost!

Draft at brewery. Cloudy golden pour, skin of fine bubbles. Yeasty, fruity aroma, pears. Taste brings a minor sour/tart vibe, yeasty, orchard fruit. Light, perky

I called this an IPA because that's what the brewery called it. Light hoppy aroma. Taste is like a grisette with lots of hops. I cried they put hops in my grisette. Tart finish.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is quite doughy upfront, with soft tangy hops and crisp biscuity malt in back. Flavour is fresh, bright and clean, with lots of doughy notes, fresh citrusy hops, and a dry biscuity malt base. Real nice use of the fresh hops, making this doughy and more fresher-tasting than usual, with a little less bitterness. Very good.

Fresh hop smell and taste are great..it's dry hopped. Lovely in the glass, solid and long lasting head of foam, lacing is also very good.
Canned August 15th so less than 2 months old. Great!
Thanks Good Times Oakland!
