Occidental Brewing Co. was founded in 2011 by Ben and Dan Engler with the goal of making well-balanced continental-style beers in the land of IPAs: Portland, Oregon. Finding a niche with beer drinkers who had grown tired of the hops arms race, we quickly grew (but not too much) with our lineup of approachable, sessionable, and award-winning ales and lagers. We began canning our core beers in 2013 and now bottle multiple seasonal offerings as well. Over the years we expanded our distribution from our Portland brewery to much of Oregon, Western Washington, Nevada, Idaho, and the occasional shipment to Japan. Can. Pours a clear light gold with a white head that that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has light grass and melon with a bit of hay and straw underlying. Flavor is more grass forward with a hint of pine and a strong hay and straw backbone.
Clear yellow body with a thick white head. Light suiting grassy aroma. Malty taste like a bit of biscuit with a hop edge. One of the better steam beers going
Pour is a crystal clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is all kinds of hops. Some grassy and some fruit. Flavor is some dry malt with again a bit of off hops combinations. Finish is just a touch sweet but also dries things out. Kind of weird and different but in a good way.

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. Dark golden, full foamy head. Dusty, musty grainy aroma. Taste features dry malts, bread, earthy hops at the finish. Pretty accurate.
