Keg at the brewery, 12/17/16. Hazy yellow, large creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of wheat and citrus. The taste is citrus, wheat, lime. Medium bodied.

Keg at the brewery, 12/17/16. Clear dark brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toffee, caramel, raisin. The taste is raisin, bitter hops, caramel. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

On tap while in STL for vacation visiting family. Pours clear brown. Has a very nice roast aspect to it.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2016. Pours a near clear copper amber with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and biscuit with some bread supporting. Flavor has notes of sweet grains, bread and toffee with some biscuits underlying.

Pour is a amber with a large white head. Aroma is a earthy malt with something like the filling of a whoppers candy. Flavor is a sweet but earthy dry malt with a little molasses. This was a fine easy drinking English ale.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is lager malt with a little euro hop. Flavor is again a nice dry crackerlike malt but a bit more floral hop is found. A beer you could drink many of and not get tired of it.

Pour is a dark brown with a large white head. Aroma is a bit of sweet toffee malt with some brown sugar. Flavor is more of a toasted, almost roasted malt with a little sweetness after the swallow. I don’t get many of this style but this seemed spot on with a nice malty backbone a little to no bitterness.

12oz can. Unfiltered burgundy-brown body. Foamy, steady, beige head. Medium bodied, very true to style. Sweet, some serious malt depth. Pretty straight down the middle. Well executed.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a pretty good roasted malt with some bakers chcocolate. Flavor is wonderful with lots of chocolate, coffee and maybe some roasted peanuts or even some peanut butter. Some schwartzbeir’s can be pretty thin but this version is quite a heavy mouth feel with the nice big presence of those roasted malt. Probably one of my top 5 Civil life beers.
