Description
Founded in North San Diego County in 2010 by Daniel & Jon Love, and Kamron Khannakhjavani, what began as a hobby years earlier had formed into a business. Originally operating out of a 2200 sq. ft. industrial space, the business grew quickly thanks to thirsty patrons visiting the industrial, but homely, onsite tasting room and adjacent homebrew store. Brewhouse upgrades soon followed and in 2012, Mother Earth opened a large Tap House in the historic downtown Vista district. The relocation of the tap room allowed the company to expand its production spaces even further and over time additional square footage was added to nearly 28000 sq. ft. in total.

In 2015 the company began development of a new, state-of-the-art 40,000 sq. ft. production facility in Nampa, Idaho. Featuring a 40 bbl multi-vessel brewhouse, and the capacity to produce over 100K bbls/yr, “Mother Earth – Nampa” went on-line in August of 2016 and through continuous upgrades and expansion rapidly became the largest brewery in the state of Idaho. As Mother Earth's second regional headquarters, Nampa supports most of the company's growth and produces beer for all markets outside Southern California. The original Vista brewery continues to provide draft and specialty offerings to its home market of Socal as well as creating unique one-off brews for visitors at its retail operations in North County San Diego. Mother Earth remains family owned and operated and has become a standard of success within the industry.

Draught @ Whole Foods, Hillcrest, San Diego. Aroma is mild with toffee and licorice. Feels like an English stout. Flavour has licorice, coffee, toffee and deep toastiness. Finishes with licorice candy and toasted sugar. Oversweet but I like it.

Bomber from Capitol Beer. Pours Pours golden amber with a creamy off-white head. Fresh citrus aroma. Med + body - foamy carbonation. Flavor is very fresh citrus over a bit of roasty malt backbone. Hoppy and bitter. Malt is not obtrusive - a good thing that.

Nitro at Union Kitchen and Tap. Poured a nice creamy golden color with a very long lasting light off-white color. Woah, thought this would be dark like a stout but it came out golden. Aroma was light chocolate, some malt, lots and lots of fresh green coffee notes. Flavor was light bitter coffee notes, light coffee.

Draft at Churchill’s. Poured a very dark color, nearly pitch black with a small dark brown head. Aroma was lots of peanuts, malts, nutty notes. Flavor was actually a lot more subtle than I expected, not so much peanut butter, but perhaps a little lingering note of peanut skins and some dusting of crushed peanuts. Booze is apparent.

Bottle consumed at Cropredy, Fairports Annual Reunion Festival 2015, Thurs 13th, Friday 14th and Sat 15th shared with Craig. Hazy pissy yellow with some yeast in suspension, sticky white head. Sweet, rather tropically and with more than a touch of pineapple, lengthy bitter end. Nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
