Our philosophy is to brew beer with the adventurous craft beer drinker in mind—focusing on hand-crafted, small batches of beer, using local, seasonal and organic ingredients as much as possible.

Our beers are influenced mostly by Belgian and American craft styles, but the addition of premium ingredients such as fruits, spices or wild yeast strains sometimes causes the beers to defy traditional categories. Our barrel aging program features a wide variety of beers aged in wine and spirits barrels, ranging from a Rye barrel-aged Mexican Chocolate Stout to a wild yeast-fermented Saison aged on Missouri wine grapes in French oak wine barrels. We strive to always achieve balance with each of our recipes, making our beers exceptional with food.

Growler shared by JohnF. The pour is a lightly haze darker orange golden, with only a small off white head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt, some light brown sugar sweetness, and some yeast esters in the back. The taste is the sugar sweet malt, nice floral expression, and clove ester yeast in the back. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft carbonation. All the flavors integrated nicely. Didn’t realize this was supposed to have Brett until I read the description, there is none present at the moment. With the residual sweetness in the beer, I would be curious to see what the Brett will eventually do to the beer. Thanks for bringing this back and sharing, John.

750mL bottle, sent from coryking (thanks Cory), pours a cloudy dark orangey amber with a small beige head. Aroma of squash, light maple syrup and what seems like other spices I can't pick up on exactly. Flavour brings out a surprisingly well-blended mix of squash and maple syrup - dry caramel malts as well, with some other spicy notes. Dry, lightly spicy and nicely balanced. A surprisingly nice beer.

Tap at the Stagshead. Pours a hazy champagne color with thin to no head. tastes of wheat, very mild peaches, yeast, lemons but not quite tart enough. ok but nothing special

Bottle shared at the Richmond Industry Gathering. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of big, big anise notes. Some herbal and bready notes as well. The taste is bready malts, spices and nuts. Medium bodied.

Bottle shared by Noodleuser. Thanks! Poured a cloudy, orange-yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was notes of herbs, some yeast and spices in there. Flavor had notes of spice, sweetness, touch of yeast.

5oz pour at the brewery. What a nice surprise on my visit to the brewery. Unfortunately, the brett has not taken hold (yet). The beer is a dark amber color, too dark to see through. It is just a lame duck beer at the moment. Seems like there is a nice load of residual sweetness just waiting for some hungry bretts to come eat it up. Medium body, low on esters and fruits but Belgian sweetness dominates. I would like to see this in a little while.

5oz sampler at the brewery. I was really looking forward to trying this and the beer that piqued my interests most at the brewpub. Unfortunately, it was pretty damn disappointing. Pour is very pale but not clear, which is completely fine. However, with the first whiff I knew this wasn’t the type of beer I would enjoy. While the peach character was not heavy handed it just did not meld well with the rest of the beer. Probably because the base berliner was green. The beer was definitely not tart and if the lacto was there it was very weak and more milky in flavor than anything else. The mix of that did not make for a positive combination. Glad I did not splurge for a whole bottle of this beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber gold with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a note of earthy grains and squash with a hint of sweetness underlying. Flavor has squash up front with sweet grains and a growing note of maple.

Bottle. Pours black with a creamy brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of coconut with a strong lactose backbone and a bit roasted malt. Flavor starts with lactose and coconut and has a growing roasted malt note that adds a bit of bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of noodleuser, thanks! Murky orange, thick white head. Aroma of orange and vanilla cream with some tropical fruit. Taste is bitter and fruity straw. Nice.
