Draft at 219 Taproom, Chesterton. Deep brown-black body with reddish highlights at the margins; thin cream head. Oak and whiskey dominate the aroma. Body inky, creamy, and rounded, with lots of buttery oak, whiskey, sherry, chocolate, and dark fruits. Aged in a good way, with modest lingering carbonation. A lovely, robust, complex beer.

Draft at 219 Taproom, Chesterton. Translucent copper-brown body, thin cream head. Nose dank, and caramely. Body also dank and caramely, with dark fruits and toast providing a robust backdrop for the dank, rindy hops. Robust but hides the booziness well.

Draft (growler). Pecan, toffee malt, and light hay aroma. Dark brown with large tan head. Moderately sweet nutty toffee malt, and mildly bitter/astringent hay flavor. Good body. Subtle for a Scotch ale but tasty and easy drinking.
