Draft at 219 Taproom, Chesterton. Deep brown-black body with reddish highlights at the margins; thin cream head. Oak and whiskey dominate the aroma. Body inky, creamy, and rounded, with lots of buttery oak, whiskey, sherry, chocolate, and dark fruits. Aged in a good way, with modest lingering carbonation. A lovely, robust, complex beer.

Draft at 219 Taproom, Chesterton. Translucent copper-brown body, thin cream head. Nose dank, and caramely. Body also dank and caramely, with dark fruits and toast providing a robust backdrop for the dank, rindy hops. Robust but hides the booziness well.

Draft at 219 Taproom, Chesterton. Hazy bright orange body, thin off-white to cream head. Nose grassy with citrus juice notes. Body a juicy-dank blend, with pineapple, tangerine, and herbal notes. Fairly smooth and well-made, middle-of-the-road example.

Draft (growler). Pecan, toffee malt, and light hay aroma. Dark brown with large tan head. Moderately sweet nutty toffee malt, and mildly bitter/astringent hay flavor. Good body. Subtle for a Scotch ale but tasty and easy drinking.
