Bottle, shared at Logan's. Nobody could figure out which coffee it was, so I'm guessing. Pours black, with a thick, dark, foamy, brown head. The aroma is walnuts, big coffee, and bitter chocolate. The flavor is sweet and sugary, with a significant, roasty bitterness. Heavy body, with a syrupy, thin, and lightly astringent mouthfeel. This is a coffee-forward, nicely done stout, but not really my thing.

Can thanks to John. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is licorice and toasted malt. Slick body, roasted malt, licorice, bitter finish, very good.

Canned 12/5, drunk 12/31/18.Dark mahogany-to-ebony, undetermined clarity, but ruby highlights in light suggest good clarity. Tan head fades quickly to nothing. Smells of cacao nibs. Heavily. Like they filled the tank with nibs, added some liquid to rehydrate them, then squeezed it all out and this is what's left. Pure liquid cacao. Peanut, fudge, milk chocolate, very intense and sweet though with a nutty edge that at least shows a bit of balance. Don't get much coffee, though. Don't get much of anything but cacao, to be honest. No alcohol or flaw. In the mouth it's sweet, fudgey, intensely chocolatey and nutty with a soft, fairly thick texture with creamy-like carbonation and no alcohol or flaw. But so much god damned cacao nib. Just intense, nutty, fudgey chocolate notes for days. Dominates everything and is way overdone. Wow, never thought I'd run in to an overdone cacao nibs beer, but here we have it. Just goes to show anything can be overdone. Couldn't finish.

Pours an ebony, undetermined clarity with a small, tan head showing moderate-to-low retention.
Nose is strong licorice, fruity coffee roast, heavy roasted barley with ash, prune, vanilla and bitter cacao. Almost smells like this is the adjunct version. But it's clean, attenuated and shows no alcohol. Quite aromatic and big for its relatively small size.
In the mouth it's very flavorful for just 5.6%. Big roast, ash, dark chocolate and vanilla gives all of the flavor of an imperial stout with an almost syrupy, lightly-to-moderately sweet body propelled on by tight, low carbonation. Lots of nuttiness, roasted barley character, cacao-like notes, raisins and prunes with light fudge and sweet chocolate helping to balance. No alcohol, no flaw. A kiss of pine/grapefruit from the hops and lots of classic stout flavors linger. Very solid, good execution and a ton of flavor packed into it without excessive sweetness.

473ml can from a trade. Canned 11/15/18. Heavy, juicy and stingy with some exotic tropical notes, grass, pine, earthiness and hay. Interesting, quite untypical hop profile.
