Description
Eventide is a brewery in Atlanta, GA. It was founded on the idea that great beer doesn’t have to be complicated and good beer should be enjoyable. We are also focused on bringing sessionable craft beer to everyone. The biggest trend, and subsequent impediment, in craft/micro brewing is the almost obsessive need to make the biggest, hoppiest, strangest beer possible, which is great for advancing the boundaries of what can be done with beer but does not satisfy a daily thirst. We pride ourselves on making great beer, with all the flavor one could want, that people will actually want to drink whenever and with whatever. Again, great doesn’t have to be complicated.
Another of our fundamental ideas is that brewing is free, and should be open. So, with this in mind, we will share as many of our “secrets” as possible with everyone so that they too can make great beer at home. If you ever have questions please reach out, we are more than happy to share what we know! (Seriously, we will talk about brewing and all of it’s components for hours…love this stuff.)
Enjoy!

Tap at Atlanta airport during layover at 7am. The beauty of airports as no one knows what time zone your coming from drinking a beer at all hours is fine, now in my case and hour south in Orlando but don’t judge my vacay. Lovely dark pour frothy head. Nose is earthy and cocoa. Tastes of roasted malt, very dry, light chocolate, hint of hay. Smooth and easy drinking. Perfect breakfast brew.

Sweet with loads of cocoa and plum, coursing with a rich chocolate backbone. Looks more like a brown ale than a porter, and the booze comes through a little too much on the finish for a beer with such a low ABV. Tasty and drinkable, but might need a little aging to let the sugars flourish.

On tap at the GA Chapter Room. Pours black, with a medium, tan head. Aroma of bitter cocoa, a little anise, rye, peat, and pine. Sweet and earthy, with a herbal bitterness. Medium body, slick, sticky, and a little acidic. This is a heavily peated and roasted scotch ale.

Sample in a flight at the Beer Growler in Alpharetta. Pours a light gold, with a small, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is bubblegum, tangerines, hay, and some light pine. Light, grainy sweetness, with a mild bitterness that comes forward in the finish. Light to medium body, chewy and fairly effervescent mouthfeel. A well made, simple, and tasty beer. A little over-hopped for the style (in my humble opinion), and could be lighter bodied, but still is quaffable and tasty.

Sample at the Beer Growler in John’s Creek. Pours a pale, bubbly yellow, with a medium, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is resinous, bitter grapefruit, pine, and light honey. Very bitter, with just a little sweetness. Medium body, astringent, and clingy. Overall, this is a very bitter and aggressive pale ale. Not unpleasant, but not very refreshing or flavorful.
