savoured at Bab 2016, thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours dark brown, small white head. Smell is bourbon, taste is thick, bourbon, bit roasted grains. Boozy, for sure ! Mild bitterness, nice, but it would be far better if it had more balance

Thank you for sharing Kermis! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Bierfestival Brugge 2016. Dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is muted boozy licorice with a solid malty base, overly iron with light molasses & sugar, bit too herbal & muted. Body & taste are a bit too thin & fizzy. Taste is iron heavy with overly herbal notes, licorice, sugar, low sugary bourbon, candy, low molasses, thin malts, fizzy herbal. The barrel aging appears to have taken out the lovely thick & syrupy qualities of the base beer. This is not bad on its own, nice even but for me it is a clear step below the base beer. Too bad on paper it sounded beautiful.

6/II/16 - 75cl bottle @ Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a, bottled: 3/VI/15 (2016-108) Thanks to kermis for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, creamy irregular brown head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: off, yeasty, some caramel, weird, smells like potty. rotting stuff, rotting banana peel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. taste: lots of bourbon, vanilla, caramel, sweet, bit sugary. Aftertaste: banana, yeast, but sugary, soft bitterness, more banana. Bah.

Bottle @ home. Pretty nice beer! It’s not too strong but still has quite a nice nutty, bourbon, vanilla and oak taste aside from the quadruple like taste. Medium body, nice carbo.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours near black with a medium beige head. Aroma of roast, caramel, definitely a bit oaty, light licorice and an overripe dark fruity touch. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light to light moderate carbonation.

Dark black-ruby pour, frothy tan-coloured head with not much retention. Smells like roasted malts, smoke, caramel. The taste is sweet, somewhere between a baltic porter and a belgian dark ale, with notes of caramel, roasted malt, dark fruit, smoked grains. A bit too light in the body, and it has a kind of metallic, slightly abrasive feeling, but other than that it is a decent winter beer.
