Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours cloudy dark brown with a short lived tan head. Aroma of oak, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits, light candy, boozy notes, caramel and toffee. Flavour is fairly heavy sweet with little bitterness. The body is a little thin, with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Hazy dark brown with fizzy and short lasting coca-cola like head. Sweet vanilla up front, bourbon, light roasted malts, berries, quite spicy, light milk chocolate. Quite sweet with light berry tartness. Light to medium bodied with a bit watery feel. Too bad it’s a bit thin, otherwise a very nice beer.

75cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Very very thin white head. Murky light amber pour. It’s ok but nowhere near as good as the Baltic Porter.

Bottle shared. Pours murky golden brown with a minimal off white head. Aroma of yeast, light fruity hops, banana, light malt and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied with high carbonation. A disappointing beer considering the quality of the first from the broeders.

Bottle @ Huppel the Pub, medium sample. Bartender advised not to pour the bottom part of the bottle, because of massive amount of yeast, so we did not. Therefore, just slight hazy dark brown color, short frothy brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, bit licorice, slight caramel, bit lactic like a milk stout. Soft roasty bitterness in taste, bit sweet from the lactic note. Slight spicy touch. Interesting to see ’monks’ brew a different style than the paved double or triple. Nice.
