Description
What could bring together a firefighter, sales rep, engineer, lawyer, and entrepreneur? In our case, it was beer. Our story began in a home kitchen where we started to learn the craft by brewing our first batch on the stove. We were instantly hooked on our new hobby - and the taste of our new product - so we decided to move operations to a larger space to brew bigger batches: a two-car garage. At the time, we had no bigger ambitions for our beer than to hang out with each other and enjoy what we brewed. But the beer was too good. At the encouragement of friends and fellow home brewers, we decided to turn our passion project into a bona fide business.

Our passion for creating grew beer continues in our current Taproom and brewery, a 20,000 square foot space with a 30 bbl brewhouse and cellar.

Taster at Das Stahl. Black, with a fair, beige head. The nose is dark roast coffee, resin, caramel, and pine sap. Sweet and roasty, with a big, brash bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and chewy. Quality and aggressive.

Taster at FoBAB. Untappd said this was 10% abv, the card at FoBAB had 8.6, and described it further as Baltic Porter aged in Four Roses bourbon barrels. A little bit more foam around the edges. Brownish to black color. Smell has some malt and a little bit of yeast to it we are presuming a Baltic Porter perhaps. The taste is like a doppel bock, with plenty of malt. And some yeast in the bite. Settles down nicely. Drinks like a lighter alcohol beer, as a matter of fact.
