Description
Beer from the Heart of Idaho! That was the dream in 2011, when Kevin Jones & Paul Holle founded Sawtooth Brewery in Ketchum, Idaho. Opening on 11/11/11 in a blizzard was just the beginning. After many years at what is now the Hotel Ketchum, Sawtooth Brewery opened the Public House in Ketchum in February 2016, the Tap Room in Hailey in July 2016, and consolidated production in Hailey in November 2016.

In December 2020 Sawtooth Brewery lauched Atmos Brewing Co. Non-Alcoholic Craft Beer and Creekside Hard Seltzer to round out the product family.

Sawtooth Brewery is now distributed in Idaho, Montana, & Utah and nationwide with Atmos Brewing. They have their Outpost food truck to host events such as Riverfest, Hailey Rocks, Ketchum Oktoberfest, the Sawtooth Valley Gathering, in addition to catering many events and private parties. We brew on a 15bbl Brewhouse and can all of our products in-house.

Bomber from the Boise Co-op. Pours out a nice deep rich golden color with a one-finger fluffy head. Aroma is Bready, biscuity malts, kind of dry and Dusty. Taste offers some very light melon notes along with a persistent bitterness that hangs up on the palate for quite a while. Kind of dry at the finish too. Never had this kind of hop variety before, very interesting.

On tap. Hazy dull yellow with a thin white cap. Grassy and floral hop presence. Bland and papery. Bitterness and somewhat chemically. Misses the mark.

Can from Boise Co-op. Medium amber with a small tight, creamy head. Malty aroma, bread, caramel. Taste mirrors the aroma, with the addition of a small hoppy presence at the back end. Nice weight and feel.

12 oz can from a six pack bought at Winco. Canned seven weeks or so ago. Aroma is mango, citrus peel, faint passionfruit, yeasty, biscuity. Pours cloudy orange with a shit-ton of floaties, big and small, floating around underneath a small white head that falls into a ring after a minute--very unappetizing looking. Taste has a lingering moderate to high level pithy bitterness and some light juiciness. It's not horrible, but it could use a lot of work.

Can from Moscow Co-op. Medium golden pour, small foamy head. While this definitely comes off as a lager, it seems more helles than kölsch. Big malty grain notes in the aroma and taste, but lacking the crisp hop bite. Thick, oily feel.

6 pack of cans from WinCo. This one's hitting all the marks for a hazy IPA and a fresh hop IPA. Pours out a very bright orange golden color, hazy of course, and there's a big fluffy head. Aroma is light tart citrus. Taste is more of the orange zest, grapefruit peel with some mild bitterness. Coupled with a really nice feel, this one goes down very easy. I love the stuff these guys have been putting out lately.
