It’s always interesting to try Irish stouts from other countries. The taste is pretty accurate - roasty, light bodied, slightly acidic - but I think it’s missing the nitrogen creaminess.

Bottle, courtesy of Arslan himself ofc! Very dark brown, blackish body, thick off-white head. Huge, complex aroma, cake, coconut, roast, dried figs, dried apricots, lightly jammy, light red berry. Smooth, creamy taste, roast-forward, coffee, carob, low chocolate, nutty, light coconut, low orange, mild warmth. Lovely!

24 December 2025. Christmas Eve tasting - cheers to the family! Bottle from a Mostar bar.
A: hazy black, small, frothy, tan head.
A: very subtle coffee bean, cigarette ash, earth.
T: restrainedly sweetish fondant, raisin, coffee.
F: bitter earthy hops, bit metallic, ash.
P: medium body, watery texture, average carbonation.
Not enough flavour nor body, too bad.

Pitch black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is some liquorice, mild toffee, a bit alcohol and some mild estery tones to it. Flavour is liquorice, alcohol, some toasted and mild wooden tones. OK, but leaves a bit one dimensional.
